Well looked after, serviced with only the best fluids (Amsoil fully synthetic oil, ATE Super Blue brake fluid, etc etc), always babied until the engines warmed up (by the oil temp, not the coolant temp, takes twice as long but you know it's safe that way!) and allowed to cool down after every journey. Long story short, it's been treated with respect.
The car has 12 months MOT, 3 months tax and has also been serviced recently. It will want for nothing for a good few months (bar the tax disk, which is still far cheaper than most fun cars these days!) and will give its new owner many years of service if continued to be looked after and treated with respect (FYI, service intervals are officially every 4500 miles, using Amsoil however permits this to be extended to 10-12k safely).
Good points
* Genuine manual VR-4 from the factory, not a cobbled-together conversion
* Bloody quick! One of the highest UK VR-4 BHP on stock turbos; 340 HP and 380 Ft/Lbs Torque takes off like a scolded cat! See photos for dyno sheet.
* Handles like a dream, no body roll, slightly lowered but stiffened suspension
* Looks stunning with recently refurbished anthracite alloys and angel-eye HID headlamps
* Refurbished AYC pump and uprated AYC diff will give many more years of service
* Anti-lag (pops bangs), launch control, flat-shifting and switchable maps
* Had it's "A" service (oils / filters, plus front discs as preventative) about 3 months ago and its "D" service last year (cambelt + its pretensioner, water pump as preventative, rocker cover gaskets as preventative)
* Brake pads, discs and rear tyres all have at least 2 years left in them, front tyres have at least 1 year left (based on moderate driving, keep pushing it hard and obviously these times will be much shorter)
* Recently had new lower arms fitted as preventative measure, along with track rod and rack rod ends replaced, this car is tight all round!
Not so good points
* Clock reads 135k miles, however as it's an import with some KM, this is estimated to be more like 100k miles (6A13 engines are good for 160k miles+ though, search for 'Gowfs SWOC', reliable 450 HP at that mileage!)
* Bodywork isn't perfect, has the occasional mild dink and dent with one scratch down the left side
* One alloy has been kerbed recently (some dick of a work colleague thought it was funny to smack the back of my head whilst I was parallel parking) but this will be professionally refurbished before selling (if asking price received)
* Engine has the usual 6A13 tappet noise, this goes away once warmed up though
* Front tyres have about 50% life left in them (rears however have over 75%)
* Although there's oodles of meat left on the current brakes, they have the typical Brembo squeal under very light braking
* Heated elements of front seats not wired in yet, again this will be sorted if asking price received
* (struggling to think of stuff) passenger side pillar cover occasionally comes loose, tiny bit of glue will fix it
As the car is an import, temporary insurance specialists won't cover it (nor will your 3rd party cover), so I'll (happily) do any demonstrating. Car is HPI clear, never had finance against it and any trials welcome.
I feel I need to say I'm not in a rush to sell this car, roll up thinking you can offer me a cheeky £2.5k cash and I'll tell you to politely bugger off home
This car has had over £10k spent on it and is well-known in Club VR-4. Should I have chosen to break the car instead of selling it I'd recoup £4k+ in aftermarket parts alone, but I don't want to see such a rare and special beast destroyed. Therefore, I'll only sell the car for the right price to someone I believe to be a genuine owner who will look after it.
