    262 cams dyno run

Finally got around to putting my legnum on the dyno after installing my cams and valvesprings

result was 214.5KW at the wheels which is 287.6HP.
4th gear pull giving 780Nm at the wheels
all in all not a bad result for stock turbos.

mods listed in my sig but only engine mods being, cams, valve springs, FMIC, Walboro fuel pump and a remapped 7203 ecu done myself
    dyno plot attached here:
    hope the .pdf attachment works.
will try get the video up soon

just a proof that the cams made a good difference. from memory some people get around ~170 at wheel kW from stock engines with a boost controller and FMIC.
my tune still has a bit more in it as its sitting at ~11.5:1 AFR's which is bit rich to be on the safe side + probably a few more degrees advance here and there.

Nice. Yup they sure do make a big difference!

Be awesome to see the video And to see what your car makes after all the tuning is done

not going to advance the tune anymore, as i road tune my car its near impossible to hold the engine at a certain load to get it just right. and no way am i paying what the 4wd dynos charge to use them for tuning. next thing is bigger turbos or something special with my cylinder heads. but for now im happy until i win lotto to fund my other engine build.
will upload video just need to make a youtube account to do so

Ah yes, lotto. We'd all be sorted with winning that haha.

If you get bigger turbos, you'll probably break something

It would be nice to see the actual figures from the flywheel. We have such dynos here in finland, and yes. They are pretty reliable. So one could estimate that peak power in this case was 360bhp? Something like + 20 or +30 to the max you can get with stock cams.....I have no idea what the torque from the flywheel could be Top results here have been a little under 500Nm on a very hot day..

yeah im intrested in what it would be doing at the flywheel too. just cant be bothered doing the math, for now at least.

Very nice! Do you have a graph that shows rpm also?

EDIT: nope just vs road speed as it was a rolling road not a hub dyno. 3.3 diff ratio, 4.11 final drive with 1.096 4th gear ratio. can work it out, i just havnt been bothered yet

    Nice figures Adam.
Seems that mine without misfiring and compression issue would be similar range at the wheels.
Bit concerned about measured torque. 700 ish Nm range is a massive (how on Earth gearbox did survived??) and seems unreal for that power figure. Been checking similar results (ATW power vs. torque) in few Evo's running approx. 500 bhp and they hadn't got such high figures.
Anyway, dyno measured so I'm happy with that
    Ex: Galant VR4
Running 268 HP ATW and 443 Nm torque at 0.9 bar
    Now: Lancer Evolution 8 FQ-300
Running 325 HP ATW and 510 Nm torque at 1.6 bar

thats at the wheels with 4th gear pull so to get the correct number for torque need to do some math with the diff and final drive ratios.

Ohh, OK, if that needs to re-calculated...
Shame, because that figure places your vr4 into "supercars" range

780nm from the engine would be nice but thats not doable with stock turbos

its a bit more "lumpy" at idle but drivability isnt affected at all and I didnt notice any low down power loss.
as you can see on the black line on the graph above the the torque curve is still very flat, only variations were becuase of the boost being a bit uneven as im controlling boost via a stock solenoid and stock ecu so not perfect.
