    rough price

    rather than go down the power mod route i am hoping to pull back some horses and give the engine a complete overhaul as i have no history on it at all. what kind of estimated price would i be looking at to buy all of the parts?

    Yes a very expensive concept you are putting together.
    A full engine gasket set is £317 delivered from a mitsi main dealer (£259 + vat and delivery), and this set does not include fuel system gaskets, e.g. injectors, as I have just found out.

    just change the usual consumables as you would in a major service.

    Oils, filters, belts, water pump, cambelt, tensioners and idlers. Plug leads (only required if you have a problem) and plugs.

    You could do the rocker cover gaskets and plug seals, if they are leaking.

    Flush and change the gearbox oil.

    Flush and change the coolant.

    im not sure if i have a problem. the car does sound like an imprezza just now which to me sounds a bit rough but im going to get the oil changed soon anyway. no idea how old any of the service items are apart from brake fluid which is about to be done again anyway due to the new servo and brake master cylinder being fitted
