    Galant V6 alternator....does it swap with the Legnum?????

    Just a query,

    Does anybody know if a UK spec 2000 Galant V6 24 valve alternator will fit on a 1997 Legnum, from what I can see they are both 100amp but don't know if the fitting is different. Tried selling my Galant on fleabay and it didn't sell so am planning to break it, keep a few parts and sell the rest.

    The other parts I'm intending on keeping for the Legnum are :

    Power steering pump (if the same)
    Tail lights and internal fog light switch (I know I'll lose the JDM look, but not a fan of the reverse light conversion someone has done)
    Roof bars (they're in better shape than the set on the Legnum)

    I'm under the impression that the power steering pump is the same between VR4 and V6 as long as they are the same age. The design changed sometime around september 1998.
    I'm also under the impression that the V6 alternator is not interchangeable with the VR4 one, but I have never had them side by side or tried one out to see what difference there is if any.
    The tail lights are the same between JDM and UKDM, as long as they are physically the same shape. The wiring changed to add the rear fogs instead of the inner brake lights. Why not fit a relay and keep the JDM look whilst gaining rear fogs on the tailgate? http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthr...plamp-dual-use

    exactly what i am doing except i didnt try to sell my V6. i looked at the prices for parts i wanted ie FL bumper, bonnet and grille and stuff like that. buying the parts would have cost more than what i would have got from selling the car so i saved a fortune by breaking the car. i currently have a shed and a car full of car parts

    hang on to the V6 hub carriers. if you want brembos, they will do the job. my VR4 is sitting on V6 hub carriers to take the brembos but make sure you have everything before fitting including brembo friendly wheels. my wheels didnt fit and then my VR4 brakes didnt fit the FL hub carriers so i had to have the V6 discs drilled to fit the VR4 to keep me going for a couple of days
