I've currently got a Civic Type-R but was looking for something a little more sensible, as we have two bigish dogs that struggle to fit in the boot anymore, and i wanted something with more space that wasn't going to leave me wishing I'd stuck with the civic for when i wanted a little oomph.

So I've just bought this beast off of an import dealer in Manchester for about £2300, it's costing £200 on top to get it half the length of the country, but it's cheaper than getting taken up there for a whole day by a friend and buying lunch also filling two cars with fuel i figure. 81k miles, getting a fresh mot and comes with 6 months tax Pics are taken straight from the ebay classified

Nice one, looks in good condition - and still has its towing eye cover!

If you can get hold of one, I would consider replacing the cone filter with a standard airbox and uprated panel filter (either K&N oiled one or an HKS foam one). Bolting cones/pods direct onto the MAF on the VR-4 tends to upset the airflow and the MAF misreads.

Have put feelers out to some ebay breakers for an airbox, though I spent every penny of my £2500 budget on the car and getting it down here.
@Nick Mann - Think it's perfectly relevant, does she still want one?

Seriously though as soon as the eBay listing page stops cutting out on me it'll be on there as a classified asap. Have until the 6th of february before my insurance renewal and I'd rather that be the day I can move the legnum off the drive than have to reinsure the civic just so people can test drive it so fingers crossed.

Would someone mind telling me if the engine bay looks standard other than the filter, most pictures I find don't have black exhaust manifolds.

It's an auto by the way (would rather have manual but it was hard enough finding this one and tiptronic almost compensates for it) so would that mean it's a 260bhp stock?

Nice car mate, get a stock airbox back on there, get an exhaust, intercooler and a bit more boost then you'll climb back into your civic and think "man this is slooooowwwww"!

engine bay seems standard apart from the splash of red paint , black plenum and odd bit of red pipework . looks like a clean car . 256bhp standard as its a preface lift auto.

I'll probably be doing nothing for this year at least (though the first 'mod' will definately be a dog-guard, which will happen asap), as this is all part of a larger plan to save a chunk of money to clear some debt (not enough to worry about, just for piece of mind we want to pay it off and the sooner the better). Hence 'downgrading' from the civic to free up a wad of cash while we have more outgoings. The mrs was quite surprised when i suggested switching cars to save money, moreso when i took her up on her thoughts of getting an estate....

All down to one guy who used to park next to me in the car park i used for school in a black galant estate, always thought they looked great, though after having a Prelude i didn't want to go back to the 2.5 V6, until i discovered the import TTs (sadly that wasn't till recently)

Really looking forward to Thursday morning when it arrives, even if i have to get up at 5 to receive it and still leave for work at 6. Then walk past it every day till the 6th feb/the civic sells, whichever comes last, it's a very good incentive to sell a car fast.

Anyone between Manchester and Dorset that day keep an eye out for a white legnum on a flatbed heading south

Also, i forgot to mention it has the touchscreen climate control. Can this be swapped to the normal controller or does it have different connections for the interior loom?

Hmm, may do then.....what are the chances of getting a non-woodgrain dash for it? Although I'm starting to feel, well, not young (at 28) I'm not quite sure I'm ready to look at that for the forseeable future
