    removing aircon

So for me to run a second alternator iv got to loose the aircon so the pump can be replaced for the alternator.

Is this a job for a novice or will I be better off with a little paid help in the form of NJ or gowf?

Will things need capping off? Or is it a completely independant system that once its out, its all out?

The only thing you wont or may want to leave is the air con rad in the heater in side the dash every think else is removable you might want to make some blanks up just to cap off the pipes that go into the bulkhead as for the gas you can have it pumped out or if there none in it just undo the pipes but becareful as its pressurised lol

Ah ok that doesnt sound too bad so if I start with the two big black pipes on the drivers side of the bay and I'm guessing that's flow and return as such and basically work my way round removing everything that's on that run, that'll be everything out? And it wont affect the running of the car.

You'll need to vent the system first, and it's illegal with a significant fine if you freely do this into the atmosphere.

However, if you were to slip with a drill, like I did....
Believed to be the only PFL Legnum parked on my drive unless you know otherwise.

The compressor shouldn't draw any more than an idler pulley when the aircon is switched off (electromagnetic clutch), and most systems also disable to pump on WOT.

It's an easy job, and you can butcher most of the pipe work out up to the matrix in the bulkhead.
