Owned the car for 3 years, but now bought another car so left the Galant sitting around doing nothing and T&T has expired. Just before it was laid up (literally a few days before) it had a new petrol filler neck thing, 1 or 2 tyres (can't exactly remember, but all tyres look almost new), and new back box. It has picked up some rust after being left idle so long, so I'm selling it on a spares basis.

It's got sport alloys, leather interior (all good, all electric gubbins working), lovely tiptronic box, very good V6 - but has the customary noisy tappets.

What mileage has the car covered?
Also do you have any details on its service history? What oils/when/cambelt/etc?
When you say rust, where?
When did you stop using it?

Sorry for the inquisition, but this could bridge the gap for us as the 2nd car provided its still a running car?

I've disconnected the battery for a bit, so not sure of mileage - from memory I think it's around 115k. I've not done a cambelt or anything since I've had it, just basic services, oil changes etc. The rust isn't horrendous in the body, just a few fluffy bits on the arches, but it has picked up quite a bit of surface rust underneath. Didn't look at it seriously to put back on the road, but my first impression was that it was more rust than I'm comfy looking at. Might just be flakes that wire brush off, but honestly don't know. I am selling it as if it's a parts donor to be on the safe side.

I stopped using it in about September I think, having had it for around 3 trouble free years

Ok, gonna have to give it miss as the insurance is riculous for the missus! I pay less for my "group 20" car than she got quoted for the V6.

Blimey a lot of car for 300 squid!!!! If I had the space at home, I would have bought it just for strippage. A shame you can't get galoons for this price :-(

Can't believe this hasn't sold yet. This would have gone straight away a few months back just for the leather. Again, shame you're so far away if not I would have bought it. GLWTS

I reckon you should find out how much to trailer it down to somewhere near London, add that price onto your asking price and see where you go from there, still should be an absolute bargain for someone, if they have the time and space for it. The only way to go it seems.....

Otherwise shove it on ebay with a £150 reserve, ADD "advertised elsewhere bla bla bla" somewhere in the description and I am sure you will go above £300.00

Yeah, cheers anyway fellas - the distance is always a problem living down here.

I think it would make over £200 in scrap, and the wheels would probably flog separately, so I think I could get that money for it easily enough - I was just hoping someone would want/need a whole car. Might stick it on eBay just to see what happens

Alright chaps.. bit of a late bump but I never did sell this car, it just sat patiently in my yard all this time - now I really do need the space and it must go. I've stuck it on the eBay with a 99p start, but if someone waves enough fivers under my nose I'd cheerfully end it early. It fired up today very easily considering how long it's been sat there, and everything appears to work fine still. Doesn't really seem to have picked up any more rust than it had before, although not been under it.
