I too am looking at getting LPG fitted to my legnum, but finding an installer near me is proving to be more problematic than I thought, any recommendations for SE England, I'm willing to travel

If you willing to travel to Luton you are more than welcome.

Luton isn't that far, and if its being done properly, then its more than worth it, a company near me don't seem to know what they are talking about.

Any ideas on a rough price so I can inform Santa of the cost? I'd be after a tank that fits in the spare wheel well, and hopefully an lpg kit that'll allow me to get a bit more power out of the car at a later date (currently running standard)

Defnitely worth doing .... I had it installed on 2 legnums auto + manual and never had a problem even running at 15psi boost. I averaged about 210 in the manual and about 180-200 in auto from about 52 litres.

The best I got was 242 on a run in the manual and whilst still under 70p a litre its worth doing if you cover some mileage in yours.

Tempted to fit it to my current swedish turbo brick.

Less than 24 hours since I picked my car up from Adam. Felt good driving the 100 mile return trip using zero petrol!

The money saved on fuel costs will hopefully now go to fixing up the car! Every VR4 owner should get this done. Makes the car fun again as its so much cheaper to fuel!

After discussing it in depth with Adam and Dave yesterday an LPG conversion is high on my list. I've yet to keep a car for longer than 18 months but hopefully if I get the VR4 converted the running costs will then drop so I'll be more inclined to stick with it.

Need to sort out coilovers, brembos, wheels and tyres, fmic, downpipes, plugs, decat, fuel pump, hard pipes, dump valve, transmission cooler, remap, stereo, underseal, paint correction and a few other bits I forget and THEN I can get the conversion done!

    Time to start saving.

as long as you are not driving the car when your are waiting to ther other mods then that is ok but if you are planing to drive it in between doing the mods then by the time you finish those you could have saved enough money by using LPG as a fuel to pay for half of the mods you are proposing to do.

i did it the wrong way round and i regret not doing the lpg first.
i could have paid for the install and saved another couple of thousand pound if i would have done the LPG convertion when i first bought the car. i really do regret not doing sooner.

    Bye for Now!

Why bother with the fuel pump etc when 99% of the time you'll be running on LPG.
The same goes for the remap, the system fitted to mine was tuned by Chris (fassi1) so the fuelling isn't as rich on LPG as it is on standard petrol

    Hmmm

Now that is a very good point. I tend to do anywhere between 650-850 miles a month, and most of those miles are in my main car so it will be the VR4. Looks like it makes more sense to get the conversion done first. I was planning to do the mods slowly over the next few months but if I get the conversion done first I should save more in that time. Will have to wait till pay day and then do some calculations.

Edit - already purchased the fuel pump. Hadn't factored in an LPG conversion when I bought it.

Give Adaxo (Adam) a pm regarding costs. There are members running cars with the usual mods (fmic, plugs, increased boost) and they seem to be having no issues with running their cars on LPG.

Have a chat with Adam. My car is modded to 290hp and it doesnt feel any different on LPG than on the special stuff.
