mine is about 300 and i can't feel the difference when running on LPG, they probably will be a slight difference bit i can't feel it when driving, it is great and that is running 1.5 bar initial boost which drops to about 1 bar at the red line, and my AFR's are 10.5-11.5 on WOT at 1.5 bar.

it is fantastic, and i have not had a play with my settings yet, just a basic tune and let the LPG system settle in, i have given it a check over today and gone round and tightened any connection that needed it, as with any collection of pipes and jubilee clips, they seem to relax and go a little bit looser over the first few weeks after installation as the rubber pipe relaxes and the metal of the clips relaxes so it does not hurt to go round all the connection with a spary bottle of washing up liquid and water and squirt all the couplings and any that needed tighting give them a tweek up.
this is why lpg installations normally have a 1000 mile check up,just to make sure everything is tickety Boo.

    Bye for Now!

I'll have to get saving then. I filled up with V Power on Monday lunchtime and I'll need to fill up again by the end of the week. That's despite doing a sensible run to Manchester (and a slightly spirited run back).

After last discussion between few vr4 owners we figured out that we averaging 10k miles a year @ 20MPG so roughly spending about £200 a month on petrol. According to this, cost of conversion should pay itself back within a year (easy as you will deffo drive more and harder on cheap LPG) and year later you will have ~£1200 in your pocket, how you spend it is up to you insurance/mods/womens bags . So anyone who considering LPG conversion should keep vr4 for at least three years to make it pay for conv itself and probably earn you 2.5k

I will have use of my brothers diesel Jaguar XJ for a few weeks whilst he is on holiday from next weekend, and his wifes Swift so I'll have to just run around in those and use the saving in fuel money towards the LPG fund

The same goes for the remap, the system fitted to mine was tuned by Chris (fassi1) so the fuelling isn't as rich on LPG as it is on standard petrol

As long as you don't run 5 bars of boost will handle any mods you do to your car if correct components fitted correctly.

It is not only the top end can be tuned to run leaner.
Tho whole open loop can be custom tuned so pick up as well as top end can perform very well knowing that open loop plays a massive (over 50% when running higher boost) part of VR4's load and rpm range.

Is it possible to remap a VR4 on LPG just as you would if it was running on petrol? i.e. increase the boot pressure etc

You do it exactly the same as it was running on petrol. All the parameters can be tuned with evoscan apart from lpg AFR map which is tuned using LPG ECU.
LPG ECU controls fueling only, all the other parameters are still controlled and monitored by stock ECU.

Had my first fill up this afternoon. Managed 232 miles from the initial £36 of LPG (and a small top up of £4 when I was getting my training). Topped up just under 60L at a cost of £35.

WHY DID I NOT DO THIS SOONER????

My petrol fuel gauge hasnt moved at all this week. I'm loving it! At this rate the petrol will start to rot away in that fuel tank!

In the real world, that works out 18mpg, but factor in the fuel costs 2.3 x less than premium unleaded, it jumps to 41mpg. I reckon I can get 45mpg from my usual driving, as the first quarter tank was used for the setup process.

Glad you happy, as I said to your wife (Selina?) I still laughing loud after visiting fill station, even after 2 years, it just funny what you pay now for a fun in vr4.

Thanks Adam, and yes its Selina.
The fill station I used is manned, so I dont even have to get out of the car to fill up.

Brilliant, free insurance, tax and track day every year.
When I did my 2 track days last year and had chat to some people around, they couldn't believe I was running on LPG.
Open pit lane track day (whole day) cost me 60 pound in gas used on track.

My old car sold for a lot less than I hoped for so that has put a dent in my LPG conversion fund but I should hopefully be running on LPG in a couple of a months. If I can get anywhere close to the equivalent of 40mpg then I will be very happy.

I'll be giving you a shout soon Adam!

Well 5 months have passed since this post. All booked in with Adam for next week! He also discovered that one of the vacum pipes was lose which means the car has been overfuelling by a silly amount. Explains the rather rich smell.
