    strange vibration - HELP

Hi all, I have a 98 VR4S Legnum, which im having this issue when traveling @ 90-100 kms and turning slightly to the right, I get a vibration through the drivers footwell, when i straighten up or turn left the vibrantion dissappears. I have balanced the wheels, done a wheel alignment, replacer wheel bearings, and front drive shafts. Any other ideas, as its driving me nuts!!

Outside of my knowledge bank here, but given what you've changed, you might be looking at the front diff in the transfer box, perhaps? Although maybe further investigation into the various ball joints and bushings may help - such as track rod end, tie rod, etc.

The mechanic i use deals mostly with Evo's and he has gone over the whole thing, and even took it to a suspension specialist too with no idea what it could be. Engine mounts?

It can't harm to check the engine mounts, although it doesn't sound like a symptom of that.

However, it could just be something catching?

Check wheel arch liners, the wheelarch/engine bay divider, pipes/wiring in the area, anything else there that could be loose!

No does not do it up hill only When turning to the right at highway speeds. I have noticed the flexpipe off the dump pipe of the rear turbo is rubbing on the sump?

You must mean the front turbo? it sounds like you have an after market down pipe or something is out of alignment.

So it would appear that the issue has raised again. More of a shuddering than a vibration.

Did you check your wheel alignment? If one pair of tyres wore badly, maybe the next pair has too.

If your car is lowered, you're probably going to end up with this issue again unless they adjust the toe to counter it.

Check all the rear bushes and arms for wear too.

general rule of thumb i have always found to work is,

Vibration on the steering wheel it is front wheel related.
vibration through the seat rear wheel related.

if the vibration comes and goes with speed (resonance) then it is more than likely a tyre balance issue.

    Bye for Now!

I feel the vibration more through the floor than the steering wheel.
