hi guys having problems getting the box out. We've taken all bolts out that we can see and the auto box is coming away at the front but at the back it isn't parting. Does the transfer box need to come of seperate or are we missing something

transfer box is usually taken off before the gear box comes off.
can't remember if there is a couple of bolts that are buried behind it or not, there is a hidden bolt at the front behind the starter motor.
i have never removed a auto box without taking the transfer box off first.
output shaft need to be removed from the gearbox before you split the gear box from the transfer box.
there is a full removal guide in the library for the gear box which is accessible for paid up members of the club

Yeah meant to do it last weekend and forgot about it. And yeah I attempt everything myself lol. Until a get stuck
There is a "hidden" bolt which is way at the back sunk down in a valley below the level of the top transfer case bolts (but in the same area, on the gearbox side).
I find it easier to get at the bolt without the transfer case in the way, but you may be able to get at it another way.
A think a know the one Kenneth and if its the same o e a got that mate. I'll get another look the Mora and remove the transfer box aswell. Means the box I'll be a bit lighter for moving
As K said - theres a 14 mm bolt you can only get at once transfer box is off.
cheers guys ill get the transfer box off
you dont need to take the transfer box off as i have just dun mine with it still on
How did you take the bolt out that is hidden by the transfer box then?

Whichever way, I would suggest that anyone removing the gearbox for the first time removes the transfer box first. Attempting to remove the gearbox and transfer box as one could well end up with damage to the gearbox bell housing or the engine block. I have removed a lot of gearboxes frim vr4s, maybe as many as 30, and only once or twice has that bolt been missing.
