To those with gizzmo ebc's, or just ebc's in general

I've got a Gizzmo ibc, everything is wired and hooked up properly, gone over it all many times to make sure.

Went for a blat and it showed 6.4 being the highest, so fiddled with the duty cycle and its currently up at 60 and still no change in boost.

Decided to come home as some lady was watching me and probably didn't like me blasting up and the road

How has every body have their duty cycle set to?

Oh and the standard boost solenoid is plug in but no vacuum pipes, besides the one going to the retarded turbo intake pipes. And I managed to snap the other nipple, would that affect anything?

I assume your using the 3 port which comes with the IBC

I had an IBC and it was pretty rubbish TBH
got smoother boost curve by just reflashing the stock ecu, even still using the stock solenoid!

Stock boost control is better than the IBC as the stock ecu actually has a map of duty cycle vs RPM where the IBC just has fixed duty cycle hence why my IBC spiked like a beast no matter how much I fine tuned it.

Best soloution is a 3 port solenoid being controlled by the stock ECU. cheaper too, you could sell your IBC and keep the solenoid. be money up and have better boost control

    Win Win situation!

Don't have an EBC myself but have you completed the basic setup and self learning procedure properly? IIRC there was a basic setup procedure to follow, prior to "play" with the Gizzmo.

This is the boost solenoid that it can with http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-...-662007802.htm

So that solenoid works like the 3 port ones that they are selling/use on ozvr4?

I wouldn't mind doing all that, just cant have the ecu reflashed, I don't have the tools and/ or the know how, it all just flies over my head, which is a bummer since I usually click on to things like this.

I have a gizzmo ebc but can't remember the duty cycle

I,watched the guy set it up and I've had it for a good couple of years now, but still don't know how to work it.
I really should've paid attention, lol.

yes thats a 3 port solenoid. exactly the same thing the OZ guys use. except they use one with a grimmspeed sticker on the front instead of a gizzmo sticker.

How is the solenoid connected? As far as I know, the 3port can be used for either pressure or vacuum depending on how the nipples are connected. just a thought...

Interesting, put the duty cycle up to 70 and hit boost/fuel cut. Scary I thought the car was gunna blow up heh

Strange thing being that when I either switch the igniton off and on or press the top buttom and then the bottom button to show the highest stable boost pressure achieved was by way of the pressure flashing on the screen still only shows 6.4

Yet I had a quick glance and noticed it go up to 11 with the real time boost (didnt keep looking and backed off since I was already at 50kms)

    So I dunno

    I've got this fellow http://www.jdmgarageuk.com/blitz-sbc-i-d-spec-s

Ridiculously easy to set, and it can draw a graph so you know how much you're spiking by. Not particularly relevant to you unfortunately D:

Is there a gain setting that you should be playing with as well?

Gain is only for how fast you want boost to come one kinda thing. Well thats my understanding of what I read.

18psi is fun but fuel/boost cut is not haha

I put the duty cycle back down to 10 and Im still hitting 15 psi+ may have to drop it down even more

yes gain is a measure of how fast the solenoid will respond to the increase in boost moitored by the controllor.

faster the better is not true for setting the gain as setting the gain to high will result in the boost oscillating up and down, as it is tryingto change to quickly and never able to settle.

reflash your ecu and move the boost cut to a higher level. it will make you car much more drivable.

    Bye for Now!
