    'squeaking' front end.....

evening guys, the vr has developed an annoying squeaking noise from what i can determine is the offside front wheel area...not all the time, sometimes with suspension movement and sometimes with steering movement...not 100% sure of what the issue might be,i havent had chance to have the wheel off yet to check for anything obvious, but not sure if it would come to light just viewing anyway, possibly a bush?...anybody else had this squeaking issue?...any tips to help diagnosing/look for..

    cheers....dave

Could be the dreaded suspension arm issue. Don't drive it! Other than to get it checked out. Have all the recalls been done?

Blue, you really don't know? The ball joint on the lower front straight arm can fail catastrophically. It was subject to a recall several years ago but a small percentage of cars missed out. Signs of imminent failure are often slightly heavy steering and or squeaky/groany sounds from the front of the car.

You need to talk to your dealer with your chassis number. It may take a week or two for them to check it out as they need to check in Japan too. Genuine arms are very expensive so it is well worth checking from that point of view too.
