    Thumbs up Dyno result sheets rolling road result sheets Power power power.

    Ok guys i am asking what difference the setup peramiter make when setting up a shootout_44 runs.

    i am presuming these are dyno technitions setup peramiter for the day, and i am also making an assumption what they mean.
    these perameters are in a table on the dyno print out or at the bottom of the print out.

    BP = 991.4 (Barometric pressure)
    RH = 73 (Relative Humidity %)
    AT = 9 (Ambiant Temp deg C)
    IT = 13 (possible Inlet Temp deg C, not sure?)
    RR = 100 (Ramp Rate)
    TN = 3.243 (not sure?)
    20131109 = 105023 (09 11 2013 10.50:23 Date and time stamp for the run)
    CK = 811 (not sure?)
    CF = SHOOT_44 (type of dyno test shoot_44 is a basic power run)
    Tyre Pres = N/A (tyre pressure)
    Gear = N/A (gear)

    What effect do these perameter have on the dyno result and can they push the power figure up and down if they are not set correctly.

    i am asking this as a possible discussion point for the vast difference in power figures (for seemingly the same mods) that are achieved in the UK and in our counter parts south of the equator.
    i know this has been discussed before but i have been rereading some theads and i have noticed some differences in the dyno result sheets but i don't know if these perameter will make a difference.

    What do you think anyone?

    Very interesting topic Dave so I will be keeping an eye on this. What may also be interesting to know is that its not just the Aussies that seem to read higher than UK but the US guys seem to read higher. OK so this is predominantly based on Evo's but the topic of discussion is correct. HERE is a thread from the lancer register that I remember reading a year or so ago. Can't remember if they ever came to a conclusion and too tired to read through it right now but its interesting to hear that the UK reads lower than 2 other countries.

    Hopefully somebody will pop out of the woodwork and come up with some concrete reasons as to why this is.

    that MLR thread you linked to makes interesting reading.

    but i don't know which of the perameters the correction factor you would think it would be the CF, but it can't be as that is the shoot_44 type of dyno run, so i would have thought it would have to be the TN figure but i don't know.

    i would also assume that the value entered for the barometric pressure would make a difference to the power figure, but not sure what value would make the power figure high or lower.

    RH = Relative Humidity in %
    AT = Ambient Temperature in C

    I think 20131109 = 105023 is a date/time stamp (probably 10:50.23 on 09/11/2013)

    Most/all of the numbers are values that are automatically input by being in Shoot_44 mode, be it the standard numbers for that mode, or the dyno's machine sensor readings. Once it's in that mode (or indeed the other automatic modes), the operator can't fudge the figures, other than by physical manipulation of the machine.

    I know RR is ramp rate.

    the barometric pressure can be changed manually after the machine has set it this can cause huge differences in bhp figures . making it look like an actual barometric pressure that is possible is another thing.

    same car , same rollers , same everything , 5 minutes apart only difference was different bp saw an extra 60 bhp atw , was a possible natural bp figure but very unlikely as was on the high side .

    do dynos alwas read barometric pressure in mbar (millibars) e.g. 998mbar 1008mbar.
    i ask because i have seen quite a few dyro results with BP=100.8 and 99.8.
    can the units be changed on the dyno to read to dbar (decibar) so 100dbar = 1000mbar. Decibar is odd unit to use.

    so if the dyno is set for mbar units for pressure and a pressure of 99.8mbar was entered what difference would this make to the result?

    If I was in charge of designing a user interface for a dyno (which I wouldn't be - I am neither a software engineer nor a dyno operator!) I wouldn't let you select an atmospheric pressure that far away from normal.

    i was thinking it is wildly different, which is why i thought it might be in decibar rather than mbar.
    but decibar is a very odd unit to use.

    I think it more likely to be an odd unit rather than a incorrectly entered one. If I understand it correctly Dyno Dynamics stuff often has a weather unit wired to the dyno unit, so the dyno unit can measure exact pressure, humidity, temperature etc.

    Ah so due to the NZ and Oz kmph it could be just the config celecting a different set of units.

    would the gear the dyno pull was done in make a big difference to the result?

    i have just read a post from down under and he says he allways does the dyno runs in 4th gear as it closest to 1 to 1 drive, or something like that.
    i wonder if we can do a test at eurospec to see if makes a difference what gear you are in as to how much power and torque the dyno thinks you have, only 3rd and 4th on the same car is needed.
