    Spongy Brembos

Just need some clarification , to get rid of the sponginess of my Brembo's I will need to fit an evo 6 brake master cylinder. This it believe is a direct fit and the only thing I will need to do is adjust the stroke . Is this correct or will I need anything else ?

    Thanks all for any assistance

Assuming you have correctly bled the brakes as they are....

Yes an Evo 6 (with Brembos) 17/16" master cylinder is a direct fit and yes, you do need to adjust the stroke.

Others who have done this swap say that it improves the feel of the brakes when Brembo's are fitted.

Several posts about this if you can get the search to work properly.

This also reminds me that I must fit the master cylinder I bought ages ago!!

depend what vr4 you have, many vr4 came as standard with the larger brake master cylinder fitted as standard fro the factory size 17 /16.

te size of the master cylinder is printed on the bottom of the master cylinder get a small mirror and check for the size on the bottom front of the master cylinder.

    Bye for Now!

The ASC eqiuped cars got larger bore master cylinder. Don't think manuals do...

Adjusting the stroke can be a bit of a pain. We had to undo the master cyl 3 times unil we had the stroke adjusted correctly. One thing I noticed is, that you have to adopt the plug for the brake fluid sensor.

Just get a master cylinder from an auto PFL, as they have ASC, and the larger bore cylinder. Far easier

Just remember that you can't use ASC master cylinder on non-ASC brake booster. You must swap it too...
