self catering vs all inclusive?

Just had a heated debate with my kids & neice about the difference.

They are all going away this year.... florida... turkey.. etc. & all going all inclusive

Whats the point?? Why not go self catering & get out & about a bit? or even half board ? to me... AI chains you to the hotel..... no other choices. SC gives you the chance to explore & try different food... sights... cultures... history etc!

Depends on final destination
Ive done both and prefer b&b but will go ai when there are limited options at resort

B&B all the time. Anyway there are too many tourists at AI, lol

In the past I have always done b&b. For exactly the reasons you state above.

Done both myself.... many times.

But I prefere my independence & not be 'locked' in to a hotel/resort. To choose what I eat & when/where.

But my kids are ADAMANT that AI is the only way.

i personally prefer self catering,for the reasons you have mention in the first post Derek.
