'good' tyres for 195/65/14's

so I don't have a VR4, but i have a galant.

tyres on it at the moment are 195/65/14 and T rated and firestone's.

T rated are only rated to something like 118 mph.

I had my car a teeny bit faster than that the other day, and then found out that the tyres are not rated to go that fast....

i cannot find anything rated above a H (130mph) for my tyre size


does anyone know if I can actually get something rated higher than that for 14's?

and if not, does anyone know where i can get some good alloys from in a 16 inch?

Just had a quick look at camskill, they only list H or T too. I'd be suprised if your car could break 130mph tbh. Don't forget the speedo could well read a bit out by those speeds too.

weellllll, i actually had it over that the other day, stupidly got a bit caught up with a bike and ended up doing a bit too much speed for my liking :/ I had it doing nearly 120 in forth and still had 5th left......

i know about the speedo being out thing, but it seems pretty accurate with only being about 2mph out at 70 (sat nav said so) so i think it is pretty close to what it says on the dial.


i just want some high speed rated tyres cos i also want to take my car out on track, probably brands, just to see what it can do when pushed, as i cannot really do this on the road without getting my licence taken off me.

Mytyres list Toyo Proxes CF1s for that size, in a V rating (149 mph).

They don't make higher rated tyres than that in 195 65 14 as it's not s sport size, apart from toyo's as Nev said. You will have to change wheel size to get a sport tyre. You won't be reaching maximum speed at Brands anyway!

and graham, i know i probably will not reach topping out at brands, but I think its a good idea to have tyres that are rated for a high speed, as low speed ones probably will not last as long or possibly delaminate when pushing it round a track.
