Fuel Filler neck

Guys, I need a replacement fuel filler neck as the road outside my house now smells of BP Ultimate! Does anybody have a good condition second hand one laying around that I can clean up, paint and fit etc.

Mines a PFL by the way (not sure if FL and PFL are different or not)

Just out of interest does anybody know whether the Legnum shares the same fuel filler neck as the Galant estates?

Mate fitted a legnum one to his 2.0 so at a guess would say yes. If it turns out it doesn't, you didn't hear it from me though

Think Im just gunna have to grab a new one from the stealers as its only £126 odd all in and there are absolutely none floating about anywhere at the moment lol

That's not too bad then. I did have a nearly new one but the mechanic that stripped my car didn't remove it so not much use really as probably now a bean can or something

Trouble is its like interiors, people just aren't asking for these parts on a daily basis so people don't think to keep hold of them. Kept my interior for a few months with no interest even for free, skipped it, 2 weeks later a WTB thread goes up sods law

Ok so just ordered MR134520 @ £107 odd +vat and was told it would be here tomorrow am

Must be generic then. Can't remember ordering anything VR4 related & it turning up that quick

No me neither! I was shocked when he said that and asked to clarify and he said yes ill call you tomorrow about 10am.

Is this a new side to Mitsubishi?! The helpful and efficient side?! If it is I must say I approve lol

That sounds more like what I would expect, then again, the service was atrocious at my local Mitsi, hence part of the reason 3 have come & gone in the last 7 years

Low and behold in true Mitsy fashion: 'Good afternoon Mr Gadsden it turns out that the filler neck you ordered is special order and will take between 10-14 days. I will call you when it arrives. Good day'

Exactly what happened to me! Took two weeks if I recall correctly.

Well I must admit I am surprised, got a call this afternoon to say the filler neck had arrived. Will be fitting it tomorrow hopefully, so one step closer to a fully functioning VR-4

Well thats a job I do not want to do again in a hurry!!! What a b!tc4. Due to being on the car for the past 18 years the filler neck had corroded and formed itself to the inside of the fuel hose!!! After 4hrs, 2 sheared bolts, 4 stuffed jubilee clips and 2 entire layers of skin from my right hand the new filler neck is on and secure!! I hope this bu99er out-lives my ownership as I will NOT be replacing again in a hurry!!!

Nick Mann made it look so easy when he changed mine. Do what I've done and get it converted to LPG, that way you rarely have to fill up with any petrol. :-D

If I recorded it and sped it up it would look so easy haha but in real time twas not so easy. Had the hacksaw and everything out at one point It didnt help that I only had the car jacked up on one side on a gravel driveway lol. Definitely need to invest in either an inspection pit or some ramps
