Opinions on my bumper mod please

    Hi everyone.

I'm not in the position to hunt for a mint bumper at the moment, but I didn't like the look of my bumper with a missing piece either so..... At work a Nissan Elgrand came in and I noticed the middle of it's bumper and had an idea. I decided to weld a piece of it into the middle of my vr4 bumper kind of like an r33 gtr. I ran out of time so please excuse the very unfinished look. I still have to adjust it and make an undertray to match the original plus radius the edge. It WILL look like a factory bumper when done (trust me I'm a professional ) I'm just wanting others' opinions on if it looks ok or I should cut it off and forget the idea.

I think it will look mint, as long as it doesn't end up looking super flat or thin, so maybe curve the top a bit lol. Personally I think they look hory with the middle section just cut out.

I wouldn't go with a slight curve on the top, I had a guy fix my front bumper, making it all once piece, but it doesn't look as good as it would if it was flat, had a slight curve to it currently

Have you got any pics of yours to look at? Most cars I've seen with similar designs just look more subtle and less planky I guess lol, but maybe once his is painted it will be better.

Definitely interesting to look at, making me think about what I can do with mine.

Guys, it's not flat although the photos make it look that way, it's kind of an S profile you can kind of get the jist of it if you zoom into the last photo. Well, I guess we will all see how it shapes up over the next few days then I will chuck some satin black over it and see how it looks, maybe with a fluoro Illest sticker in the middle. If it looks like crap I will cut it out and cap the ends.

Ha yeah it is a bit hard to tell the profile of it. I keep thinking its the same color and the light is just hitting the middle bit.

Did this too myself on both my VR2 and V6 N/A.
Not perfect though, but for an amateur not bad I think. Next time I have the bumper off I'll get it perfect

Hey that looks quite good Mark.

Any way I finished my little project today, I think it looks pretty good considering I was missing the entire middle piece and replaced it with re shaped pieces of an El Grande and lancer bumper lol. All I have left to do is touch up the silver upto the edge of the ramp (the black goes a little further than I want). Any way it will do until I get a mint bumper (or new but mitsi bumpers tend to be on the expensive side so have to find out)
