    cv joint removal

Does anyone know how to remove the front outer cv joint from the driveshaft? I have bought a replacement joint, but can't get the original one off. I held the driveshaft in a vice and hit the inner race with a brass drift, but she's not shifting. I did the same procedure with a rover driveshaft once and the joint popped right off. I didn't want to be smashing away till the cows come home, if there's some other way of doing it. v6 galant. cheers dave.

Ignore this, just found cv joint removing tool on ebay, so i've ordered one of them.

You are doing it right. Just smack the **** out of it.
If that doesn't work, it's angle grinder time!
