    Limp mode

    This has been going on for a while now,my galoon sport goes into 1st,2nd,3rd and somtimes 4th.reverse no problem,but in tiptronic mode it wont change gear atall..so only in drive, gears change when i put my foot down hard then after a few mins it jumps into limp mode had a full atf flush and fill by Nick Mann just around a month or so back with amsoil,did a diagnostic code read on dash,d flashed once per second said codes 42,43 for the A/T ECU..so i changed the in and out speed sensors on the gearbox..and still the same..there are no noises or grinds when gears do change...so im stumped any ideas guys..???? realy want to get this sorted asap.....

    With regards to the tiptronic gear change, I would check the connections the automatic ecu and to the gearbox itself.

    I had an intermittent issue with my gearbox, I adjusted the selector o top of the gearbox, also one of the plugs on top got wet, this cause the box not to recognise if it was in drive properly. If I selected drive for example the n would also be illuminated on the dash.

    It wasn't doing what u say above but I think these would narrow your search down. Next I would maybe try another ecu....

    Checking the continuity of the cables to the sensors might help too.
    Iirc the three wires should be 12v ground and signal.

    Ok back to this again,still can't sort this out,so ive got the codes 42,43 flashing once per second on the d..looked on the code list and i have no idea what it means,as i said before atf fine and topped up and changed the in and out speed sensors on top of the gearbox...looked at wires etc.. any ideas?? is there any other sensors etc,, it could be,need to sort this out as ive a MOT in a month,any help would be great many thanks in advance....

    Click the auto transmission link. Go to the trouble shooting page, and then read away. If I have read it all right then you have an issue with one of the shaft sensors or there is a mechanical problem in the box. It could be that the wiring for one of the sensors is dodgy too.
