    Eurospec Competition Clutch Group Buy?

I was talking to the main man Ben at Eurospec today, he can offer the club a group buy deal on Evo 7-9 Competiton Clutch stuff.

Basically he can offer us a 20% discount on five sales or more.

For your info, have a look at the various specs here:
    http://competitionclutch.com/csindex...n=productspage

I have posted what I understand the RRPs to be below, along with the discount price:

Stage ** RRP ** Discounted Price

    Stage 2 - £440 - £352
    Stage 3 - £528 - £423
    Stage 4 - £440 - £352
    Flywheel £283 - £227

    Post up interest below!

I'm interested, stage 2 and flywheel for me I think.

Nick, any idea what these are like compared to what you fitted for me?

Sorry, I can't comment too much on the stage 3 and 4. I have a stage 2 and I like it. It does just what I want it to! I understand that as you go for a higher rated clutch then it gets grabbier and so more awkward to use for slow speed manouvers. Comparing it to yours would be tricky - you'd have to read reviews of each and take an educated guess I think. It might also be worth phoning Ben and asking his opinion.

Hey Nick, so you already have a stage 2 kit fitted? Are you ordering a kit?

Whats the feel like, is it similar to a standard clutch?

I think I should say that I'm interested in this kit with a flywheel.

I run one of the twin plate job's with the lightened flywheel from Competition Clutch. I can say that it is awesome, provides amazing grip and torque transfer. However....it is difficult in stop start traffic as it is designed to be launched and not slipped as normal driving requires, sometimes I feel it is digital (either on or off), it do's make a little noise/judder when pulling away unless launching, also on track on the down shift it makes a chirping noise as it engages.
I have had this in for just over a year and despite some spirited driving, some decidedly sketchy (read aggressive & or illegal) hill starts and a week at the Ring, it has not lost any of the feel/bite that it had when fitted. A truly great bit of kit. Will most definitely use them again.

I already have a stage 2 kit with flywheel fitted. It can be slightly juddery at biting point when stationary and low revs, but a few more revs solves the problem. Pedal feel is fine, although it is slightly heavier than stock. Vicky has driven it and didn't complain. It's not as heavy as my old SD1 clutch was! I would happily buy another one. Mine has also been abused a few times - I fitted it before I went to the Ring in 2012, so whilst it hasn't done huge mileage it has seen some action. I sometimes get a smell from it if I get very abusive, but it seems to still work well and holds all the torque with apparent ease.

I phoned Ben because I needed a clutch for a customers car. He was unwilling to wait, so I have already ordered that. There is an outside chance that I will order another, but I think probably not this time.

Is it always that good bargain deal is coming and I have already allocated money for something else? Hate you Mr Nick Mann
Anyway, Nick any chance you can ask Ben how he finds his stage 3 option in comparison with ACT HD Street clutches, please? At the moment Indigo-GT sells ACT for 499 GBP (MLR members, limited stock), and I think I may need one in a future to replace my recent 6-paddle Excedy.

    I could be interested.
First I just need to get my car fixed and back on the road, fit manual conversion, and then try work out whether they'll be better than the OS Giken Twinplate R2CD clutch and Fidanza flywheel I already have.

    Eurospec Competition Clutch Group Buy?

Cracking setup. Have been running the Stage 2 Competition clutch with lightened fly wheel for 3 years now and very happy with it.. As stated, it can be juddery on slow manoeuvres and in traffic. But I have found that no accelerator input when moving in slow traffic is better. Just lightly raise the clutch and let it bite and your off..
It's seen a fair bit of abuse over the last 3 years and as long as you don't try and treat it like a normal clutch(feathering in the drive) it should last well.
What it doesn't like is being driven onto ramps, as this normally means plenty of clutch slipping! I have made some ramp extensions to allow a more progressive slope. It makes for less clutch slipping. The smell of the clutch when slipping has gotta be one of the most awful things I have ever smelt 😫
It does make for great launching and lighting up all 4 wheels off of the lights 😁

it doesn't seem as if there are enough manual car owners about at the moment who need clutches. Damn their rareity!

I know stage 4 will be very on off but for the price its worth the extra slow driving probs for the extra grip it gives

    Yes, prices are correct.

I fitted a stage 4 and lightened flywheel to a customers car a few weeks back. I have driven nearly 50 miles in it and I am quite impressed with it. I expected it to be a nightmare to drive but it isn't too bad at all. Obviously it is a lot more on/off than my stage 2 but even so it is not impossible to slip the clutch for low speed manoeuvring. I personally would stick with the stage 2 but then I am not planning to repeatedly launch my car!

I think that we now have 3 people interested. I'm not sure we will get any more.

    @Nick Mann
Maybe Ben can do some discount for only 3 of us?
