Replacing is not fun at all. I usually end up with a sore throat from the yelling and screaming out of sure agony why it needed to be this tight. But give it an hour and you're good to go.
Search online for:

I pulled out my aircon pump and added a second alternator which was 210amp
there is a bosch one as well as I was thinking about doing a swap if this one goes
Personally not a fan of Bosch at all, I usually have them refurbished professionally which is not cheap over here (around 150 euro) but probably most due to labour.
What is the best way to get it out? As is ive removed the strut brace, rear turbo pipe and flex pipe, rear turbo heat shield, moved what looks like, throttle cable and all other lines and cables have been shifted. Do i need to move the master brake cylinder or its lines? What about the timing belt cover?
You remove it through the wheel arch. You don't need to remove any of the parts you mentioned. There is a guide in the members section
Ask a simple question, never receive an answer these days
the guide for alternator removal may be in the members section, which could be the reason for not finding.
Bye for Now!
you need to be a member unfortunately to see the guide.

Very shortly said: from underneath/wheel well, get it bolted off, including the big piece of mounting metal and wiggle it out (and the new one in).
Ah thank you guys i paid for membership yesterday so hopefully it comes through in the next few days and ican see the guides myself haha.
hi guys my alt is playing up seem owner before me installed wrong one! just wondering if the MD340951 (120A) is for me i have the 1997 vr4 legnum rhd? any help would be awsome!
The current rating depends on the spec of the car rather than the year. If it is a cold spec auto then it will be 120A. You can fit any alternator on, the mountings are all the same, just the higher current alternators need a longer bolt as they are wider.
cheers mate mine is a auto how do I tell if its a cold spec?
At least the heater strip in the wind screen at wiper level and the heated side mirrors. The wind screen heating strip has a switch in the right side knee panel.
sorry i took sum photos im guessing its not a cold spec but im not positive so i took sum pics thanks for helping guys!IMG_20150503_212846_100.jpgP1080396.JPGP1080406.JPG
