    Rear Diff Failure....... AGAIN!!!

Ruddy rear diff has failed again, destroyed one 10/13, swinks came to my rescue and my VR4 rode again, unfortunately the missus has now destroyed this one too

I really don't want to get rid of her (the car not the wife!)

Firstly does anyone have a rear diff for sale? If not which of the Evo diffs fit? Is the the 8 that will drop straight in?

Any advice is much appreciated folks....

    Thanks all.

it drops straight in with some spacers, and possible bit of a modification to allow you to get to the fill bolt.
i have never worked out were the fill bolt actually lines up in relation to the original fill bolt hole in the rear sub frame.
can you get the fill bolt out without having to drop the diff out of the subframe.

this would be very interesting to know.

    Bye for Now!

Evo 7 are stronger but with no SAYC. Evo 8 and 9 also have SAYC. As above, they fit with a 10mm spacer at the rear mount points. You also need to swap the flange that fits to the prop shaft.

You have to drop the diff slightly to get to the fill plug. Removing the rear two bolts is enough. I remember someone saying that they had ground the head of the fill bolt down to about half it's thickness which then allowed removal of the bolt with a spanner.

or if you want something really quite tricky to fit, try fitting a evo 10 rear diff.

Yep that's correct. If you shorten the threaded part and grind the head, it is possible to remove it with diff in place
