Can the rear head be removed without taking the turbo and manifold off?

    hi all,
Can the rear head be removed without taking the turbo and manifold off?

this is with the engine still in the car.

presume everything else is off that needs to come off to remove the rear head, rocker cover, plenum, throttle body, thermostat housing, inlet manifold, turbo pipe work, down pipes, etc, etc.

    I am thinking of maybe,
the front and rear roll stopper can be disconnected
    the radiator removed
the engine rocked forwards with a ratchet strap and tied off in position to give more room (unfortunately i have poly mount limiting rock)
disconnect oil and water lines from turbo
    undo head bolts

will it come off in one lot head manifold turbo, turbo elbow?

    firstly has anyone done it?

secondly if you have not done it, do you think it is possible, or is there definitely not enough room for it to be done.

    what do you guys think.

    Bye for Now!

I have removed the head with the turbo still attached. Been over 2 years now since I replaced the head gaskets though so cant remember the work that well but it wasn't too bad I think.

I don't think I had to undo any of the mounts and I had the poly mounts fitted a long time before the heads were taken off

    good to know peter,
i was concerned that i would get most of the way through the head removal only to find i had to take the engine out anyway.

i tincking about just swapping the engine rather than mess with the head while in the car, i am not sure.
