    2.5 V6 Sport cruise control - missing!

Hi, have just bought a 2.5 V6 sport estate automatic, year 2000, with a view to restoring it as my main car, there's a lot to do but my main worry is that it does not have cruise control and as my earlier 2.0 Galant estate had it I wrongly assumed they all did.
Does anyone know please if it's possible to get a secondhand switch and fit it to this car? is the appropriate plug already in the loom?
I don't want to go ahead with the project if this isn't possible and wonder if the 'sport' label means that Mitsubishi thought the driver of this car wouldn't want cruise control, baffling! any help greatly appreciated, cheers, Steven.

my sport aint got it either, dont think they came with it. My previous 3 all had it and I would be interested in fitting it myself if it can be done

I'm pretty sure that is it. I don't remember seeing a Sport with cruise control.

A V6 without cruise?! Never heard of that. Could it be someone swapped in another steering wheel and didn't bother to hook up the cruise control lever? You can check if you have it in the engine bay on the throttle body, if there is a metal round shaped vacuum canister on top with a vacuum line attached to it, then probably all is in place, bar the cruise control lever on the steering wheel. Another check would be to remove the steering wheel (disconnect battery first!) and see if there is a free 3 (or was it 4?)-pin connector hanging around. The only cables attached to anything would be one to the horn and one cable to the airbag.

I think that cruise control became just an option rather than standard after the first facelift. My '97 V6-24 had it. Our 2000 V6 Sport didn't.

Has anyone seen a momo wheel with cruise buttons on it? I don't think it exists. The Sport comes with a momo wheel......

The cruise is a separate stalk, IIRC.

Hi Neil, thanks for your response,I'm still trying to find out myself but it seems as if many V6's did NOT have cruise control , madness!
