i have just put my new wheels on and the drivers side front sits out 4mm more than the passanger side ,could this be down to worn suspension ?

Measuring at the top? That would worry me a little. Is the car on level ground? The wheel moves in and out as the spring compresses, so if the wheel that is further in is also further up then that might help the explanation.
when you say it is on level ground, is it really level?
i am not being funny, but it really does have to be level tgound to take measuremenets from arch to wheel. spirit level required to ensure the ground flat and level. otherwise a fraction unlevel a fraction uneven in the measurements.
Bye for Now!
So is it running positive camber?
I'm sure there is camber adjustment on the front
No camber adjustment available from the factory on the front but you can get after market camber kits to correct bad camber on the front. Bad camber is usually due to lowering the car to much.
Camber can be adjusted on the rear by adding spacers behind the upper wishbone, between arm and chassis.
yeah but bad camber on lowerd suspension dave would bring the top of the wheel in not out
Which one is wrong though? Is one too far in or the other too far out?
I'd be checking the top wishbones and bushes.
aftermarket straight arms? i got a pair (needed for wof, couldnt afford genuine at the time), i noticed they were slightly longer than genuine
