    discussed with previous work

    I have just got me old engine out so last few bits can swap over and get the turbos on.

    Im shocked at what i have just found.
    The car was ment to have had a new belt and kit and wp fitted.

    Wp has no gasket just silicone on, only half a belt kit was fitted this was the middle pully the one with the tentioner was not replaced its covered in rust and old belt rubber, the oil leak was from the hydrolic tentioner.
    Is it just me or do people not expect to be found out.
    I know you may get a little rust on a pully but not pitted rust after a year or two. Was hoping you use my old kit and just put new belt on as was only 10k old. Not that i mind just anoying

    OE waterpumos dont use gaskets they are supposed to be glued on with silicone

    Yhm... mine was fitted with "paper" gasket (1st pump, factory fitted), also OEM bought in Mitsi dealers came with gasket.
    Ex: Galant VR4
    Running 268 HP ATW and 443 Nm torque at 0.9 bar
    Now: Lancer Evolution 8 FQ-300
    Running 325 HP ATW and 510 Nm torque at 1.6 bar

    really the stock engine gasket set i got from misi gave me a new water pump gasket, and the two i was looing at has the gaskets too and you can get the gasket on there own too i always use a little silcone to help the gasket and im talking just wiped on not mountins of it even the sump i dont really like the fact it has no gasket, still dont explain the cambelt tent pully, i understand the tentioner can leak at any point as any seal can go.

    just seams shoddy to me, on a good note taking the engine out has given me time to re route the oil cooler pipes as these were just shoved in by the people in japan as came like it into uk.
