    Brake parts suppliers.

So a friend needs to buy a full set of discs/pads for his VR4. His local mechanic can't work out what to buy and has already ordered the wrong stuff once. No problem I said, and sent him links to the right stuff from Camskill. Then Camskill closed their parts business for a few months to "revamp the website".

Where would you mail order cheap as chips pads & discs from for a VR4 now? He hasn't got the confidence to go and buy from a motor factors and his "mechanic" doesn't seem to know how to either!!

Brakes Internation have always seen me right. They are showing as £27 each for the Front discs (Diameter / Thickness 294X24) and £25 each for the rears (Diameter / Thickness 284X20) if you want to double check they are the right sizes.

You have delivery of around £7 on top of that, but they will be with you normally next day

You could try importcarparts.co.uk I haven't used them myself but the guy at Camskill suggested using them when he couldn't get the parts

Thanks chaps. I'll check those out.
Yes, there are other cars that use the same discs and pads but it seems that lots of people in the UK now go by the number plate and if that doesn't work then they are unable to work it out.

the best pads ive ever fitted and am to this car along with any other fast car ill buy is carbotec pads xp8 think there called just run stock discs and youll never go back, nearly everybody I knew with an mr2 said the stock brakes were rubbish, everyperson I did there brakes for I rebuilt there stock brakes and put on stock discs with xp8 pads you may get the odd squeal everynow and then I even had a guy come in and swap from a 6 pot setup back to stock with my setup.

    Yes, a well-used combination on the VR-4!

The only off-putting factor for some though is the price tag of the pads - I last recall they were over £200 for a set of front pads for the VR-4.

Which reminds me, I wonder who the best to get Carbotech pads off these days is? Although it does sound like Euro Car Parts may be the place to start...

Last time i got them from them direct can be found on flee bay think deamon tweeks do them.
Yes price is high but there are only 2 item that stop a car brakes and tyres. If im honest i take a lot of crap for saying this but i get alot at work of my brakes feel rubbish or when its wet my car feels twitchy then you look at the car and there on cheap pads and budget tyres 9/10 i tell them i can sort it but will cost about 300 and most people dont bother and i get told thats far to expencive. I have a 0 tollarance on brakes. But thats me. If im honest i think part of the peoblem is a not having the knolage and 2 its companies making money on vunrable people.
Anyway back on topic could try amber performance or even r-tec.

IIRC it was a user called the tyrant on the mlr that could sort out carbotech.
They are good pads as long as you don't want clean wheels.
Personally I don't skimp on brakes, for the last few years I have run performance friction on a brembo upgrade. However the guy who asked me rarely drives hos car hard and has never tracked it. He just wants cheap as chips. They will work, but they will lose performance if being used hard.

I need a new set of Carbotech's on mine, they're down to the rivets (and, of course, now marking the discs, so I need them too!)

Is "thetyrant" on MLR the same guy as Carbotech Europe (who I've gone to direct before)? Would I get a discount contacting him via MLR, than direct?
