Welcome to the the the club
If it has not been lpg'ed yet get it done. ASAP it will save you a fortune.
And allow you to spend the saved money on toys.
Bye for Now!
Can't spend much money on it bud, got a strict budget for the rally, but I can get it serviced at least
Good news Jason! Although you never left, welcome back officially
And what about the VXR8?
Hey Mark
The problem with the VXR8 is I'm bored of the power. I thought about supercharging it but options are limited because it's a 6.0 LS2 (could probably get it to 575 - 600 HP), additionally it's got 60k miles on it now and although it should be fine, I want the peace of mind I'm going to build an engine that's going to survive many thousands more miles under forced induction by starting anew.
That leaves me with the option to swap in a crate engine, in particular the 6.2 LS3 which can be supercharged to well over 600 HP and lets me do things like upgrade the oil pump (a known weakness, the stock ones cavitate over 6200 RPM and you lose oil pressure), swap out the cam and install the supercharger a lot cheaper because the engines out the car already.
So my plan is to sell my car through a local dealership whilst prices are still favourable, buy a cheap VXR8 that's either a rolling shell with a blown engine or a high mileage (I know of one of each) and then ask a local fabricator / V8 swap specialist to put it all together
What's the total expected cost for all that?
We had a supercharged VXR8 at a dyno day I arranged last year and it was bonkers.
Probably circa £23k :/
That's not too shabby for a stonking V8. The one at the dyno day made 707bhp. Sounded sublime and obviously shifted like **** off a shovel.
Which belt you talking about? cam belt?
