    Rear License Plate Lights

    Hey guys,

I'm wondering size bulbs the rear license plate lights use? I've searched everywhere in regards to this but cannot find an answer. School has taken up my time to actually go in and pull them out so small Christmas break to-do-list!

    Thanks!

    hi there,
i have checked the bulb chart and unfortunately it does not state the bulb type just the wattage which is 5W, it is either going to be 233 bayonet style oposite lungs or a capless 501 style. i can't remeber off the top of my head.

The more you know, the faster you can go. And I still don't know enough.

There's more to it. The P5W uses the BA15s bayonet style cap. As opposed to the W5W which is wedge base.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ght_bulb_types

I've seen the P5W being called R5W as well, could be the same.

these bulbs are known as many different names and numbers,
if you search ebay for bulbs you will find the ones you are looking for by searching for 501 for the capless type or 233 for the bayonet type

    501, T10, W5W
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr...1+bulb&_sop=15

    233, T4W, BA9S
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr...1+bulb&_sop=15

as i said above i am not 100% these are the bulb you want but i think it will be either or. I would remove the bulb take a pic an post it up and it will be easy to tell which one you need.

Two bulbs for the rear license plate. Be careful with the size of the LED replacements though, they tend to be too long and not fit as a result.
