your highlights of cvr4 membership ?

...... i'm sure lots of you have many

    In my umpteen year's of boring/ entertaining you, i'll kick off ;

Me.. keiran & BDA working on project VX.

Dave welding the roof....... which caught fire & burned his head !! Keiran ran for a bucket of water, i grabbed my camera

The result was dave writing in the dust on the windshield with his finger . SGHOM ... hence my user name

Anyone else's classic memories from cvr4 membership.... not just ownership?

    I have many :-)

    Dismantling a legnum with @mpau009 @bradc
My Mrs was there with us and she wanted to swing the huge sledgehammer and break the radiator support off. Mike decided he was going to show her how it was done. He took a massive swing at it, missing completely and got himself square in the shin!

Or the time @Gly decided to throw engine start on a bonfire.... I'll let you use your imagination.

Or the classic when we were on a cruise and a cake very close to loosing my license when I overtook an unmarked police car.....

I remember working on project vx well, but I wasn't there for the sghom moment. I had read it in the dust before you changed your username from interlec though.
Fireworks at yours with Kieran and BDA when BDA used a bucket of water to put the hedge out after a firework called something like armageddon. He swung the bucket too far and soaked himself!

Talking of fireworks Nick, i well remember that night at yours !!

BDA had been posting on a daily basis how many fireworks he had bought..... & it was a lot !! Not to be outdone, we went into Birmingham at the last minute & ended up at a pyrotechnic guy's house

£ 400 later..... we ended up with 'display only' ...... not for public use fireworks !! Lol . I think Dave was outdone & a little peeved lol

And as ever...... pezza turned up, as he did to almost every meet, just as it was over! Typical pezza!

The devastation the following morning was a site to behold

10th Anniversary when at 1am Nev, Barry, Dean and myself decided a KFC was in order, alas at that time only the drive thru was open so we opted to do a spot of virtual drink driving. Walking through the drive thru in correct formation when Nev decides to get out and go for a slash leaving the back door open so all the heat escaped. Brrrrr. Ended up getting the food we ordered but also the rest of the food on the hotplates for free as they were closing.

With the help of a few more bevvies the lot got devoured:

Winning best car on 10th anniversary was a eye watering moment for me. Fixing Richard car was memorable and dismantling Karls super, beside this countless help from members, sghom showing off what vr4 is capable too (my first ride in vr4) and meet with Wodjo at jae and have extensive chat stuck in my head.

A lap out at Donington with Physician. I'd had my first Legnum only a few days at that point and never dreamed that a VR4 could handle as well as it did. Plus the brown-pants moment when Physician's foot slipped off the brake pedal at the end of the straight!

Last time was quite memorable, wasn't it (or at least the way to get there)

Wish I could meet more of you lads in person, you are a great bunch!
The more you know, the faster you can go. And I still don't know enough.

    Thumbs up

this seems to be following a familiar pattern with one person featuring quite heavily in a lot of these tails.

one of my most memerable also included Derek on track at donnington, my first track session there. he was giving me some pointers on the line and the track in general.

Picture the scene, i had done a couple of laps and confidence was growing, uh oh.......

I turned in to early at the end of the pit straight and was going to fast as well. i ran out of tarmac all to quickly and ended up on the grass still doing about 60 and derek shouted
"plant you foot and let the AYC do it Job, it will be fine."
This advice was all well and good, but i had not told derek a little secret i had been keeping, so my response was,
    "my ayc doesn't work."
the smile on derek's face went away very quickly.
I did manage to get it back on track, but i think a bit of poo might have come out, in the process.

Atik was stood right on the corner as i made this slight mistake, and said in did look quite spectacular to watch from the track side.

when i return to the pits i think i was the only car that had mud all the way down the left hand side of the car.

this might have been the same year, after i came off track and my car was, how do i say it mildly overheating.

there were 2 jets of steam coming out from under the rad cap and it was whistling madly.
then once it had cooled down a bit and whistling had stopped the engine was off and i looked at the expansion bottle, it was waggling from side to side as the bubbles poured out of the radiator and out of the expansion bottle. it was light a scene for poltergeist.

This didn't stop me from going out on the second track session, i had booked, so why not use it. lol

    Another classic memory from me.

RT2 i think it was? Stopped for a fuel & food break somewhere in Belgium ....... laid the blanket on the grass. Simon & Claire & baby George with us

Everyone expected baby George to be laid on his mums lap for a bottle of warm milk ........ but not George !!! He spotted a cornish pasty on a plate & leaned over & grabbed it !!

Even his mum Claire was shocked....... but he demolished the lot

I've missed out on all the good meets and the anniversary get together.

Highlights for me have been the handful of NW Meets I have attended and the time I got my hands dirty by changing my spark plugs under the supervision of Nick. The RR day I organised last year was also a highlight but that was more Pistonheads with a handful of CVR4 members.

BDA out accelerating a sri in a traffic light sprint may not sound too impressive...... but, he was towing a trailer...... with another legnum on it at the time !!
