Remove bolt, replace copper washers, do up again, but don't do it too tight.

You've probably crushed the copper washers too far so that they aren't effective any more.

I think that any copper washer of the correct size will do - but check with Mitsubishi (assuming you've got one locally), you may be very surprised at the price!

    do not over tighten it.

i did, and the bolt head sheered off. NEw copper washer on both sides of the banjo fitting.

but it was not a major issue i had a couple of spares.

    Bye for Now!

I have had a good look at it and the idiot who put my engine in has only one copper washer on at the back and a normal washer under the nut I assumed there would be a copper washer either side of the banjo before the nut and normal washer went on to make the seal would I be right in thinking that

bano fittings are usually bolts, and they definitely need a copper washer either side of the pipe. i presume it is the same for nutted banjos.
