Ayc Phantom repair

My ayc light came on last summer and never went off,despite fitting an adjustable pressure switch. Did the ecu pin out and had it looked at both pointed to a dead pump. Priced it all up and concluded,the ayc isn't worth all that cash. My opinion of coarse.
At weekend I fitted a new battery, the tiny Japanese item was struggling on the cold starts,and any start at the end to be honest. Now,lights are brighter,stereo,s clearer and louder and ayc has come back ti life.
There a cheap thing to check if your ayc light comes on, battery voltage.

Nice fix.
Don't be suprised if it starts playing up as the weather gets warmer though. Let us know in the summer if it is still working

You should look into refurbishing your pump. I am about to go down that road - since fitting the adjustable switch the AYC light was off, AYC bars racing up and down, but something feels wrong as if the AYC just wasn't doing its job. When accelerating on ice the car would often start to go at an angle. To top it off the OZVR4 people warned me that using the AYC below its rated pressure could burn out the diff clutch packs. Not sure if that ever happened to anyone with an aftermarket switch though. Refurb kit is 65 GBP shipped, one is on its way to me now...
