    Another ABS thread :)

As we all know oem brakes are pants on these vehicles! Ive been replacing discs and pads yearly because of the dreaded warping effect, commonly holding brake pedal down at the lights instead of putting handbrake on ...... Me bad
So i invested in a front set of grooved EBC rotors and red stuff pads and so far a huge improvement until that is, i gave the ole girl a bit of a run ( approx 200 miles). Whilst nearing home and braking i noticed slight judder on brake pedal and hey presto ABS light came on. Ive had a read on here and noted reluctor rings may be damaged. Ive had a quick peep at both fronts and cannot see any splits or shiny/ damaged teeth?
So pulled ABS codes and got 21,22,23 and 24.
So checked sensors, cabling and connectors and all seems acceptable.
I think next port of call is an air line and brake cleaner to remove any debris around the sensors and reluctor rings. As red stuff pads create a lot more brake dust debris than conventional pads.
    Any thoughts/tips gentleman?

When I had a reluctor ring go (on the rear), the fault code showed only the one code - which was the one where the ring was broken.

The break in the ring was very small, and not immediately noticable - but to a computer listening to the tone generated, it's very simple to pick up the slight error introduced by a broken ring.

Having all 4 codes showing at the same time might be a red herring.

Clear the codes by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, and give it a try again.

I run Carbotech pads, which generate a HUGE amount of dust and heat, and have not had any issues with ABS, or even brake pedal judder due to deposits building up on the disk surface by holding the brakes on at traffic lights.

Mmmmm just had a read up on here on abs codes and the first list i found is saying all four codes are for front brakes only, i.e short on front sensors + & - 2nd list says its a code per corner ? Is there a different list description for pfl/fl ? Disconnected batt for 30 mins on sat. All seemed ok until this morning and ABS light came on. I went out at lunchtime and all good again no light lol. I hate intermittent faults grrrrrrr

    Update-
Cured. Build up of flaky debris creeping onto inside edge of front nearside reluctor ring. Small flat blade screwdriver and a wire brush added with a squirt of brake cleaner and hey presto can now see inner profile of reluctor ring. No more ABS judder through pedal and so far no ABS light....... Happy days!

Nice one. And thanks for posting the solution as a lot of people don't bother doing that anymore.
