I would say rust is becoming the main killer of these cars in the UK now. Check the rear arches and underside of the front strut towers. Mechanically, the auto boxes can be sensitive to poor oil or servicing and a major service is expensive.
Feel free to post up links to cars on here and we will try to dissect them.
not having much luck finding any at the mo, i live quite near mitsi-art in portsmouth so might pop in and see if they know of any that might be going up for sale
Might be one reluctantly coming up for sale here soon.
Mods to date-

Make that a new car!!
Make that a new Legnum VR4 now on the driveway!!!
Pm me some details please, cheers
Welcome!
As Nick says, the rust is beginning to affect these cars now. the oldest ones are now coming up to 20 years old, and many of them are falling foul of this. Both my Legnums and the Stagea I had previously showed signs of rust problems. A fresh import is probably the best route at the moment, or finding a well looked after Club car.
