    V6 Sport electrical problem

    Hi,

I have a V6 Sport, 2003 problem. The alternator belt broke, and when Id finished replacing ti there was a spark from around the alternator area. When started up, no electrics worked aside from the headlights and wipers. Everything else was not working. 12.5v at battery with no engine running, 12v with it running at idle. There a wire with a "mount" with a hole in it which comes out of a look near the alternator. No voltage to earth with engine on or off. Grounded the wire and it made no difference. Oddly, when the belt was broken, the alternator light was on as was the oil pressure light. Alternator light no longer on but no sign of oil pressure light when ignition is on or engine running. No radio, interior lights, speedo lights etc. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Sounds like a main fuse. Have you checked the high rated fuses in the engine fuse box?
