Car History

This is a Car of the year edition i got back in 2010 from northern Ireland, I drove it daily ever since until about a year and a half ago when it failed its MOT. It has been SORN ever since. It had a list of issues that put me off getting it back on the road so i decided it was time to move on. But its been sat on my driveway ever since.

Its completely stock and always has been apart from alloys and a replacement exhaust (which is as close to stock as i could get it)

All the usual COTY extras. leather etc.

Modifications.

Evo 8 alloys

Relatively new exhaust. Was custom made by a trader off here when i needed one in a hurry. Unfortunately i don't remember who. Somewhere around Cov/Birmingham. no louder than stock but sounds nice.

Other information.

Yep, not a typo. id like 200 quid for it i can then donate to charity.
I wanted to donate the car to charity through giveacar.co.uk and give the proceeds to an epilepsy research charity (i have epilepsy) however they think the scrap value they will get for it is very low and they will not recommend auctioning it. So unfortunately the amount i would get for it would be sub 30 quid.
If you want to buy the car. And think its worth more. Ill take whatever you want to give me and ill make a donation to the charity you choose.

I want to get rid of the car quickly. My neighbors and my wife are starting to complain about it laying around on my driveway.


If its not gone by SUNDAY 2ND OCTOBER ill let giveacar.co.uk take it and the charity will only get 30 quid.

You obviously need to come pick it up via loader/trailer. As it cant be driven away as its SORN, NO MOT and doesnt actualy drive.

Bad bits

It doesn't start at the moment. Although probably would do easily with a bit of a prod. Last time i jump started it as the battery was flat it ran when turning the key but was very very lumpy. But it did clear up after a few mins.
I have no idea when the last oil change was. But id say the oil is more like treacle...
The engine had gotten pretty noisy and developed a misfire before i parked it up although the turbos still boosted well.
I was told the suspension needs work to pass mot. I believe bushings etc.
The handbrake also isn't strong enough to pass the mot.
Drivers side front tyre is flat. it has a slow puncture. I believe all the others are ok with decent tread.
Air con doesn't work. A long time ago the compressor ceased and although its been replaced the AC doesn't get cold.
The active dif no longer functions and it has a warning light on the dash. so probably needs a rebuild.
Leather on the steering wheel is worn.
It has evo Enkei 8 alloys although they need a refurb. curbed badly in places.

Small scuff on the drivers rear side of the bumper.
I had a small bump that deformed the bumper/wing and bonnet very slightly. This cracked the centre grill and headlight. These have been replaced but the grill is purple because i couldnt get a white one at the time.It broke the paint at the front and its rusted underneath the paint.
Its been sat under a cherry tree for over a year. so its half green with moss and stuff. The paint was good when i parked it. Not sure what its like now.

I will do whats possible to keep it on the road, unless its rotted beyond repair, then bits off it will help a lot of us VR4 owners to keep us floating this magnificent machines. If its become 'rebuild' then sure I will start thread here.

this is a highly commendable action, just remember if you are a tax payer then you can donate the money with gift aid and get the government to give the tax back to the charity which equates to about 28% so on the £200 it will give the charity an extra £48.

I only say the following as your condition depending how bad it is can limit the work/driving you can do.

if you are not a tax payer then give me the money and i will donate it for you and get the gift aid paid to the charity.

just let me know if you want this to be done.
I just want to confirm i am a trust worthy member of this club you just have to look at my reputation points and i am not about to give that up to nick £200 off a charity, this is a genuine offer.

Or you could get tax paying family member to donate the money for you.

it all hangs on the rust, and it might be the hidden rust under the side skirts and inside of front strut tower that decides the fate of the car.

Yeah there's good opportunity to actually use our pile of vr4 bits, Im fairly sure it will be ok-ish rust wise as I have a bit nosy on its MOT history and there was not mention of any rust during previous tests.
