    Selfmade bonnet

Ok, brahs. I have made bonnet by myself. What do you think of it?
To tell you the truth, on Russian forum it had more critics than endorsement)

The bonnet made from fiberglass by vacuum infusion technology. All layers from fiberglass, no mat (I hope you understand what I mean)
    It weights only 6 kilos)

What are the red things behind the bulge in the front. Pictures are not very good to pass comment on the bonnet really you need to take the picks a lot closer and from more angles showing the driver view of it.

    Just my thoughts.

well you have not added better pics you have added larger pics not from better angle to show the bonnet from the right front on, the sides, the top, and from the back from a driver view point.

Hi Artur. It sure is custom! And for that reason alone I like it. However, it is really an eye-catcher and I think it would look better if the car had more of these similar design features to create some 'flow' for this design.

I've been playing around with custom bonnets myself and I failed every time, so it is awesome craftmanship!

    Hi auther,
You wanted an honest answer and that is what I will give you.
I like the concept. The finishing is a bit rough around the edges but I do understand you have not been making these for years and finishing comes with practice. And for a first one it is a good effort.

Now down to styling, this is a subjective point and everybody has there own like and dislikes. This is just my personal opinion.

    Likes;-
    The vents, style and placement.
    Raised Centre line
Height of the outside raised parts

    Dislikes:-
The height of the outside raised part at the back of the bonnet, looks a bit odd to me.

    Things I would change:-
I think the raised outside parts would look better if the finished at the same level as the centre line.

    Or

Raise the entire mid section from the outside raised parts all the way across and have a slit across the front for the air inlet and remove the vents .
But this is only my personal opinion.
And you did say you wanted a honest answer.

I think this is very good for a first build, keep up the good work and I would like to see more of you work .
    Well done.

On its own with the rest of the car standard, it's not to my tastes.

In comparison to the rest of the car, with the hard, aggressive lines, it looks a little out of place. I think I'd prefer it without the hard edges.

However - once the rest of the car has a similar styling, then I can see it working better, and the hard edges fitting in better.

Making a large part like that isn't easy, so despite my personal opinions of the styling (because it's your car, and if you like it, that's all that matters), I can appreciate the work gone into it, and applaud you for undertaking the task!
