Garage Day, 21/22 January in Mansfield

Hey all,

Myself, @elnevio and @Nick Mann are having a garage weekend at mine on 21/22 January.

I've got room in the garage for one car at a time, plus a driveway where we can stick a car or two, plus some parking on the street, if anyone wanted to join us for any or all of it - you'll be welcome to stay over too, can find some places to stick some air beds, and there's a couple of beds in the caravan which is out front too!

Whilst the aim is to get some stuff done to the cars, it's also for having a good chinwag and some fun!

Nev has some upgrades to his RVR, such as Brembo brakes and something requiring spring compressors!

I've got some stuff to do to the Anglia, heater, crank position sensor, maybe even make a headlining to tidy up the interior a bit more, amongst other things! If we can get hold of a 7201 flashing dongle, maybe some ECU tweaking (I have the bits to do 7202/7203 without the dongle, but both of mine have a 7201 )


Plus plenty of nattering, tea, coffee, biscuits etc

Seems promising, who staying overnight? Im in proces of negotiation with Mrs, it may work as we have some friends living in Hucknall so may kill two birds with one stone of should I say one journey

I have a set of stainless headers to install on the Zed but dont want to take up the entire garage for the entire 2 days haha. Also busy on the Saturday aswell. Hopefully someone will run another workshop day and stop me from spending £700 on having them fitted for me haha.

Would be great to come down and meet some of you guys. Got a lot on my plate at the moment but will try and make some time for one of the days..
Took delivery of gearbox and diff oils this week and was going to book it in at my mate's garage next week - don't suppose you've got a ramp in yours?
To be honest, I've been so busy with uni that I've had very little time to spend on the car so it needs quite a few things looking and the input of people who know these cars would be quite valuable, I think.
I'm also in a process of stripping down a Galant GLS sedan so if anyone needs any parts, give me a shout..

I don't have a ramp, but plenty of us have done oil changes on a VR4 using nothing more than axle stands, and I'm sure there will be plenty of people around to help - that's what it's about, after all!


I've stuck up a piece of paper in the garage, where everyone can write down the jobs they would like to get done. If you wish to help out with (or do!) any of the jobs on that list - just find the car's owner and get stuck in! I've half a dozen things listed for my cars, already, and I'm likely to add more by the weekend as I think of them! They don't even need to be large jobs - one of mine is to replace 2 bolts - it's a 2 minute job. But, I've not done it yet! Maybe someone will think to themselves "I can do that" and will do it for me

If the offer is open to newbies id love to stop by. I'm in Notts Friday evening staying over. Would be great to pick other members brains on what to look for with my car especially being new to VR4's.

Plus that 2 bolt, 2 min job is just my forte. lol
