Bye for Now!
Cool!
I googled Dawson and figured Japan, but the digits on your number plate didn't look green. Whereabouts? How long for? (Obviously long enough to import your car back!) New Zealand and Japan are both countries I would love to visit, I'll have to come to you for the inside info.
It was getting fairly dark when I took the photo so I guess thats why! I live in a smallish town in the middle of Shimane prefecture which is kinda far from where all the exciting things happen, but at least its on the main island haha. Hmm I havent decided how long just yet but at least several years as you might of guessed I actually came over last year but its taken until now to get my car legal here.
Im more than happy confirm/ dispel any Japanese rumours/ myths/ legends so feel free to ask any questions you might have.
I can confirm Godzilla is very real, in fact just yesterday I spotted one of the R32 sub-species! Don't be fooled by that other godzilla propaganda sometimes seen in movies or glaring over the top of buildings in Tokyo

I also recently bought some things.

I have been thinking about writing about the whole import and registration experience if I get time. In the meantime if you want to see more up to date things I often post photos on Instagram, I know not everyone uses it but they can still be viewed if you dont have an account, link is here: www.instagram.com/imjiwi
So you have unimported your car! That surely has the potential to be the first VR-4 to go back to Japan?

In other news, I had to replace the heater core as one of the plastic pipes going into the firewall randomly decided to disintegrate... anyone else had this problem? Luckily I noticed the temperature spike so no further damage was done, only to my wallet
Oh ok, I had no idea! Thanks for the advice guys
While spring was here I took the chance to grab a few pics with some cherry blossoms in the back ground too.

Those pipes do go very brittle. Most of the failed ones I have seen have been when the rubber pipes were removed from the heater matrix on the engine bay side.
Well, lets hope the new ones survive another 18 years or so
