Serious gearbox issue

Hi guys, I have an issue with my automatic gearbox. well a problem with both of them. my first one will not give me power, In drive the vehicle will not move at all even with all brakes off. seems Asia its slipping or burned out. secondly my other gearbox auto again, will not work in auto mode in 1st or 2nd only tiptronic. once in 3rd I can switch to auto and it will work. any ideas would be appreciated before I start getting them sent away for a rebuild with a scary price tag I assume.

The first one sounds like a broken shaft. If your speedo moves it is the output shaft if not then it is more tricky to sort.
The second could be an ecu mismatch. There were modifications to the box and ecu through the life of the VR4 and there can be issues with having the wrong one. On the whole the box will work well with the right ecu but for perfection you need the right generation of box and ecu for your car.
