Car Description
Car History
Hi all,
Sadly, due to a change in circumstances, the time has come for me to sell my beloved Legnum VR4. I have had this car since January 2009 and was the first UK owner (other than the importer). I’ve done my best to make sure the car was well serviced (with help from Club VR4 friends) including a cambelt and autobox ATF change. I have always used AMSOIL products when available.
Modifications.
The car has had a number of other improvements including the poly engine mounts, lowered on Tein springs, Evo TME alloys, stainless steel downpipes, cold spec alternator, boost gauge, carbon fibre engine cover, Toad alarm, Sony mp3 cd player, Focal speakers including sub in boot floor and Hifonics Zeus ZXi8010 Amplifier.
Other information.
The car is in great condition mechanically and drives well. Only current issues performance wise are red AYC light (have got a replacement switch but not fitted), very occasionally the ABS light comes on (I think due to a bad connection to front driver’s side wheel) and a squealing belt (on occasion) on start up. There is also a small clunking noise when steering to the right that I have just noticed.
Bad bits
The downside to this car is that it was involved in an accident in December 2014 and was given a Cat C status. I bought back the car and with the help from my dad and parts from a donor car on the club restored it to roadworthiness. It’s been back on the road since February 2015. You can see the repair work, including lots of pictures, in the linked thread.

As a result of the accident the body work is not in amazing condition. The front bumper, headlights, hood, wings, driver’s door and mirror were all replaced from the donor car which was not in perfect condition to start with. Some other panels have some small scratches and there is a wee dent on the A-pillar. The driver’s side headlight doesn’t quite meet the wing at the edge as it should. The windscreen has some small scratches and an area that is not really noticeable where a scratch has been polished out. The driver’s side window spoiler is missing.
Other than that the alloys really could do with being refurbished (but are now rare and sought after). The only rust is some minor rust on rear wheel arches. The Toad alarm is not working but think it is probably a minor fault. There are some loose connections to the tweeters in the doors and the sub in boot really needs some sound deadening. The passenger window won't go down.
I have been as honest as I can about the condition of the car. I’d really like it to go to someone on the Club. It runs great and would make a good run-around but would equally be a good car to break for the engine, gearbox, suspension, downpipes, alloys, sound system and other non body parts.
