Just arrived at Hopwood services. Bright orange car at entrance to car park. Cant miss me. Bit early so heading in for a brew.
We will be leaving Man at about 9-9.30 so should be there by 11, CU all. keep dyno warm for me as I aiming to brake all records to date

My recent and ex Mitsubishi's
Hi all ,
Got home half hour ago traffic was very heavy and slow on M1 & M25.
A good weekend all in all, done what I needed to do and fixed the leaks I had,
Car is running a lot better but still there is a bit of knock, hopefully can be tuned without the need of a vist to Area 52 again. Well not this year anyway
Now I have to thank Jason for the tuning,Nick for his help and knowledge & Gary for his hospitality, bed and the use of his stuff in and around the garage could not have done it at my house so much appreciated by me.
Also thanks to Colin, Pete and Adam.Hope Colin got his car sorted out and had a great drive home
And a special thanks to Gary and his wife for the use of there home.
Does anyone have the results of the dyno runs.
I know their was lots more pressing stuff to be done on some of the cars.
I just think it would be nice to do a follow up on the thread.

Bye for Now!
This is the only photo I have IMG_6759.jpg
Legnum:
Anglia-Dyno-20170909.png
Running on LPG, with increased boost, so was aiming for 300bhp or more, but it is running healthily, and does pull well... just got to ignore the numbers I guess!
Anglia:
Legnum-Dyno-20170909.png
The Anglia was running VERY rich, around 8.5 AFR during the drop between 3k and 4k, and then around 10.5 throughout the rest of the range. This reduced the overall power, so a bit more tweaking of fuelling required.
Great to see everyone again - sorry I couldn't bring my VR4!
As for dyno results for my car here are a couple of snaps:
This one was the original, with the pink graph being on "stock" mode (330 bhp expected but still a bit rich). The darker purple line is with the cars "auto tuning" Map5 engaged, which adds more boost and alters other parameters, but is running significantly rich. Was hoping for 380bhp here so the fueling is the cause.

I made some tweaks to the manually set Map6 on my JB4 and the car went back on the rollers, I slightly increased the boost further and logged using the JB4 software which was showing AFR of 11.5-12.0 which I believe is suitable for the N54 HPDI engine.

As you can see, the car is not achieving the AFR the ECU thinks it is, infact it is overfuelling by 2 full AFR points at some points. I need to confirm that
If this can be resolved I should be good for the horsepower I'm after. Also for anyone interested, my final RWHP was 306.5.

Piers, what O2 sensor do you have? If it's aftermarket and being fed into the ECU, do you have the correct voltage to AFR calculations set in the ECU (if that's a configurable thing)?
It's all stock BMW, I did a little digging on Saturday before my laptop died and I didn't see any real options for how to recalibrate it (and I think there are 2 o2 sensors).
The JB4 tuning system interfaces with the stock ecu completely, and doesn't take any other inputs or outputs unless you want to add meth injection or extra sensors.
I do have access to the BMW INPA (factory diagnostics) software, which can do all the things like recalibration etc, but I found no reference to calibrating o2 online.
Also I was thinking - isn't the car likely to be open loop on WOT? I need to check if this is the case with the BMW DME (engine ecu), but if it is I assume the o2 sensors will not be to blame?
EDIT - perhaps not, I've found reference on some forums that once warm, the N54 is always closed loop, and the source is very reputable.

Good weekend! Good to see some faces, have a chat and a laugh. I got my best result to date, with the 262 cams. 326 fly and 262 wheels. My previous run on the same tune but pre cams was 316 fly and 245 wheels. The smaller drivetrain loss could well be put down to the newly refurbished gearbox too - the bearings in the old one were in a rather sorry state by all accounts. Also, the dyno operator told me the car is running nicely, zero knock and is slightly down on boost from last time, which goes hand in hand with the cams allowing better breathing. Putting the boost back up a little will release more horses again.
I'll add my graphs at some point soon!
Another dissapointing rolling road day for me again, as in unable to complete a tuning session, but did manage a poorly 310 at the fly. However, due to some amazing people in this club and some persistance, we found that the tps had gone, 1 or 2 boost leaks with the largest being the silicone pipe that came off the rear turbo. My car is now running the best it has in a long long time. but unable to use boost. The prognosis on this is spark blow out. So a few more bits to sort, but the tinniest of specs of light in the distance is now starting to be the light at the end of the tunnel, but as this is my car, that is subject to change.
Theses are my graphs this year and last year.
Last year car was not holding boost this year new controller and higher boost but leaks.
Leaks now fixed apart from one small one so I should be higher now than on the run will have to try and get some runs with Evoscan logging.
So my figures this time was 206 atw and 280 at the fly with leaks so maybe now 215 atw ? and 295 at the fly ?
With the leaks fixed apart from the small one .
Please let me know what you think
After spending pretty much most of the day Saturday, and we finally cracked the worst of the boost leaks from the Y-pipe to throttle body, and a donated TPS from my Anglia, we managed to at least get the car on the dyno, but that highlighted more boost leaks, a pitfall of hard piping, many more joints which are more difficult to seal than the original rubber hoses.
The rest of Saturday evening, and Sunday morning was spent chasing down the rest, finding the aforementioned hose coming from the rear turbo.
In addition to this, the boost solenoid had failed, so it was making wastegate pressure only (around 10psi), so to get 310 without proper boost control and a major boost leak isn't bad - my car in good condition with no leaks at all and nearly 18psi of boost only made 290... it shows the potential that Colin's car has once it's all right!!
It certainly felt good as a passenger on the way down to Redditch, where @Davezj loaned a boost solenoid to the cause, which saw us getting up towards 15psi at ~5300rpm, which then highlighted the ignition issues - the first thing to try is to reduce the gap on the plugs down from the standard 0.8mm to 0.7mm (as that's free to try), but might be also highlighting the limitations of the wasted spark setup.
It's getting so much closer to being right, and once it is, it'll be a beast!! Stick with it Colin, and remember we're all here to help you!
Sounds like you had a great weekend,p wish I could have been there for the full the thing.
Next time I will be there.

As been said above, I didn't expect such big turnout, was great to meet old faces as few new ones but we been there far to short to get a grip with everyone, hope @foxdie arrange this again as it seems to getting bigger and bigger, see you all on next one hopefully with more ponies.
Shall we say around March 2018?
