Live, love, learn but most of all.... Plan.
Has anyone seen these bits before?
Really, has noone ever seen these bits? apart from myself and Nick?
Just the bottom one myself . Never seem the other one on the vr4's I've worked on

did the 3 wires go into the round part if so i have one its a speed convertor
@paulbonner84 Yes they do. Mine managed to leak water in and no longer works. Do you have a spare to sell.
I have finally seen one of these and it seems it may be a ralliart part but how easy it would be to buy new these days I imagine would be near impossible. You may just be forced to go with the converter off ebay you need to splice in
@paulbonner84 Hi Paul did you get chance to have a look? Col
speedo.jpg This is the cookie.
Are you able to get some close-ups of the markings? The plug end looks very similar to (don't laugh) energy saving light-bulbs for bases with built in ballets - so its possibly a standard plug type that could be ordered from somewhere.
@Amonlym I don't see any markings on them.
Ahh, damn. thought i could see something in your latest picture sorry.
However - a big of googling and luck and shows that this looks a lot like a Bosch EV1 3 pin at one end!

@Amonlym Thank you for all the effort Jake. I agree the connectors will likely fit but don't think they will do the job of converting.
Colin, did you say you have a converter anyway? The bit on your photo is just a plug in converter, rather than a splice in converter. Just plugging the loom plug directly into the gearbox sensor without your pictured converter should bring the speedo back to life, then splice in a converter to get it back to mph instead of km/h
@Nick Mann Hi Nick, Yeh, I actually bought two of the things. Still didn't work. Sorry for having to re-arrange, you know why. On top of this, her Godmum passed away on Saturday so just as well we stayed where we were. Going to take it to a guy close by to have a gander at it. TBH the main problem with me is that I just can't bend enough to get into the engine bay to do anything. Thanks Nick. C
It never rains......
Hope is all good again soon.
