Right!, a new years day puzzle for you!.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed my front fog lights has stopped working, both of them, including the warning light on the dash (beside high beam).
I then noticed the lights on the centre console were off also (the P,RND, and the switch lights on the A/C, not the display panel bit).

Then last week, I was de icing the rear lights, and I noticed when the tail lights were switched on, I only had the passenger side wing, fender light!. The number plate lights and other 3 tail lights were off (two on the tailgate and 1 on the drivers side wing fender, and the number plate lights ALL off).

I checked all the fuses and all are good.

I thought this was odd as 1 on the passenger rear fender was ok, but the other fender was off. I thought they were paired!.

Checked all the bulbs, all good.
All other lights working fine: all brake lights good, reverse lights good, indicators, hazards good.

So at night I only had 1 passenger side wing/fender light showing, nothing else until I braked, then brake lights on all good.

SO: I thought as a temporary fix for the rear lights I would try running a wire from the passenger side, side light to the drivers side rear fender tail light (simple wire across the boot floor to the other side).

So I did this and.......

All the tail lights and number plate lights are now working!, the centre console lights are now working!, and the front fog lights and dash warning light are now all working as normal.??

I was guessing that there may be a fault at a connection where the signal splits to tailgate and each side rear fender!.
Or the Etacs unit??.

But I am a bit confused by the fact that sending the live from the working tail light, has remedied ALL these issues?, I did not think these things were linked??.

I will go through it all and sort it out and post results, but in the meantime, if you're on here on mew years day and looking for a puzzle to solve.......

Any info, thoughts welcome, and I will answer questions if asked

Happy New Year to all

cheers Louis
