    P440JJU anyone know this car?

Picking up a blue Legnum later today. I’ve noticed a club sticker in the rear window. Car is in Stourport-on-Severn, just wondering if anyone knows it? I’d post a pic but can’t work out how 🙈😂

    Just seen you said blue.

Is it a guy called Steve selling it?
I think I changed the gearbox in it a while back. It was in reasonable condition then but that was maybe 7 or 8 years ago!

Small world Nick. Well it’s back in the club now and after an 82 mile drive home it’s not at all bad. Slight vibration in low gear when accelerating but I think it’s tyre/wheel related. Body is still very clean. Strut tops are spotless and interior is pretty much as you see it in your pics.

I’ll be looking for a set of 17/18 inch alloys in any condition as ill have them refinished to suit, and I really need to sort out the headlights/bulbs as they are like 2 candles.

All in all I’m very happy for what I paid.

    Splendid!

Headlamps are poor, it's a feature of the car. Decent bulbs help but don't expect miracles!
Evo alloys fit, up to.evo 9 with no problem although sometimes with 235 wide rubber the shoulder of the tyre catches the rear arch.
Vibration on acceleration is often wear on the inner cv joint. If you get under the car and look you will see a green cup on the driveshaft with a rubber boot. Assuming it hasn't been done before then you can swap the cups over from one side of the car to the other, you will not notice the vibration in reverse!

    Hope you enjoy it.

I had evo alloys in mind just need to find a set. Is there a headlight upgrade?

I’ll have her on a ramp later this week so I’ll get that swapped over and go from there.

You can swap in glass UK spec headlights, but this just fixes the loss in foggy/cloudy/crazed lenses. Only real fix is to rewire the lighting circuit to have less voltage drop.
Put in some nightbreakers, sand and re-finish the lens if its not crystal clear and deal with it if you want an easy life!

Surely if I replace with glass headlights I can then fit an HID kit?

No, neither the plastic or glass fronted lights are suitable for HIDs, as they are reflectors designed for halogen bulbs. All you'll do is blind oncoming traffic.

Add some decent wiring to minimise the voltage drop, and clean up the lenses, and you'll have some reasonable lights.

That explains it to me perfectly. I’ll sort those out as soon as possible.

You can also fit a headlight harness, they are about £14 for 1pair lights, (need 2 , low beam and high beam).
They come with a relay all wired up. So you use the passenger side headlight connector ( plug it into the harness) and it acts as a trigger for the relay and gives direct battery power to the headlights. Brightens things up.

It is possible to fit projectors in the headlights but I'm not 100 percent happy with those either!
