Hi Adam was it easy enough to do ?
Needs press that's for sure I get one off ebay for about 100 then it's to preload bearing right by using shims is pita as they are special order. So if you have time then it's not rocket science.
What do you mean preloaded the bearings ?
Preloading a bearing ensures that it doesn't have any (or excessive) free play. This is achieved by shims. Too much and the bearing will run hot and wear out quickly, too little and it may move or not sit correctly and can cause vibration.
'97 Manual Legnum in silver with some subtle mods
My first VR4 - '97 Legnum Dark Green & mean ...it was love at first sight - now sold
Get you now .so like on a wheel bearing you tighten the nut so you get a certain amount of nm drag on it .
Next question the where do I get the shims and and what should the preload be on them or is it diffent from bearing to bearing
You need to set shafts by shims input output and diff some more info here https://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showth...l=1#post698540
