Car Description
Car History
I bought this fantastic car on this forum so am offering it back here first. Unfortunately the car has failed its MOT and I don't have the time or money to bring it back to the road so it's currently SORN & will need to be trailered, which is a shame because the car starts on the button & is wonderfully smooth to drive. I have a fat file of paperwork detailing the complete history from import to the current day.
Modifications.
Stereo head unit changed. HID headlights.
Other information.
Bodywork & interior are far from concours, largely because the car became the main family vehicle & things went downhill from there. If Graham is reading this; sorry! I really tried to keep things shipshape but the family overwhelmed my efforts. Mechanically the car drives perfectly. Straight and true. The auto change is smooth as is the tiptronic & she willingly revs out to the redline if that's what you want. Most of the time I let the torque waft us along. The engine is always fully warmed before driving and I've always used high octane fuel. She's been serviced annually at AutoTorque in Aylesbury, and in-between oil changes have been done by myself using oil from Opie. I've changed the front springs, downpipes, one wheel bearing, all the brake discs & I had the underside cleaned & sealed last year. Moon-roof works perfectly. We'll all be sorry to see the car go but needs must... *Sob*
Bad bits
MOT Failed on following points:
- NSR Tyre
- 2nd Fast Idle Emissions failure. I believe that this is simply down to the Cat not being hot enough & the tester not being aware of the need to have a good hot Cat...
- Brake Lines Corroded
- NSR Shock leaking
- TCL light flashing & Engine Management light on at idle. This is well documented around here as probably a solenoid issue & I tested both of the bulkhead items & got 57 Ohms which appears to be out of functional range.
- Blown bulb
- Headlamp aim
Beyond the MOT is the fact that the car needs a major service to include cambelt & water pump & this is where I will really struggle because I've moved to West Wales & the nearest useful Evo garage is a long way off. I could cope with the repairs required by the MOT but not with the service on top... As mentioned before the bodywork is rather scuffed, but it's all there! The original head unit gave up last year & I replaced it with a period unit from a Shogun that has a cassette deck; nice! The multi CD unit can't plug-in to this however because the plugs are different shapes, so must be a Japan / UK thing... Please feel free to ask any questions...
