Basic Introduction to ECUflash rom tuning and Evoscan logging
I must point out these are not my videos and they are from a Mitsubishi Evo9 by r3compile.
But they are so similar to the VR4 rom and mapping needs, it would be very rude not to use them.
You must watch them in sequence and if you think the One that starts with Mivec tuning is not worth watching it goes on to other useful stuff part way through.
From my point of view, if you watch and understand everything in these videos and I mean everything, then you are ready to start playing with you ECU.
the first 3 videos are a bit wordy but you need to watch them and understand them to be able to understand the rest of the videos wihich are geeky but they need to be, and i can't stress enough that you need to watch them all and understand them. if you don't understand them then what ever you do, don't play with ecu by reflashing it, this is just the basic stuff you need to know, and if you don't get it then you could do some serious damage to your car.
Enjoy!

Note:-
When read evo scan logs you can use a feature called map tracer in evoscan, it was intoduced after these videos were made in 2009 I think. Map tracer will give you an equivalent fuel map layout, and you can populate it with data, e.g. Knock data. This will show you graphically where you are getting knock and how much in the actual load/ rpm cell in the table, which is very useful.

here is another video, not sure how good it is as i use a external EBC, but it is all about replacing the stock boost solenoid with a GM or grimspeed 3 port boost solenoid valve to give you much better control of your boost with the stock ecu

again the video is a bit wordy but it shows you which tables you need to adjust and why. Oh and it is the most boring presentation style I have ever come across, but stick with it, the information is good. It does not really get going until about 5 mins into the video.
